awful! don't waste time or money there.
I think it is important to put this review on here for the benefit of your resort and hopefully a teachable moment for the Emerald Grande staff. Where to start? First off, this is an aesthetically appealing hotel off of HWY 98. It seems very lavish and luxurious to the naked eye. When we inquired about availability and pricing our assumptions were correct...pricey. They charge a $30 cleaning fee for each day you stay and then an additional $30 resort fee each day as well. THE SERVICE THAT THIS COMPANY PROVIDES IS AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!!! Our friends and family planed several months ago a trip to stay at the Grand Panama Resort ROOM 2202. We knew that check in was not until after 2 but we arrived at the hotel a little before lunch letting the office know we were early but being told the room was not ready; we understood. Elevator system is horrendous! At least put signage out that says where the elevator is going. You'd get on one & find it only goes to the parking. Then the single ones didn't ever work???
My father went to get a massage yesterday at 6:00 PM. After the absolutely low quality massage by a woman that was not fit to be a massage therapist, he got back in the spa elevator, only to have it fall 2 stories. Not only did the fall injure him, a 70 year old man that works in the sun everyday, he stayed stuck in an oxygen deprived elevator with heat lamps beating down on him for over 2 HOURS! To be as expensive as they are you would think you didn't have to wait forever to catch an elevator, they do not have carts for taking your stuff to your room, you either hand carry it making tons of trips which we did or you pay a bellman to get it for you. Housekeeping only changes the sheets once half way through your stay where at Holiday Inn you get fresh sheets everyday! We stay 5 days and I will NOT come back nor will I refer anyone to them. Panama City Beach on the other hand at The Panama Grand is EXCELLENT!

I'm sorry to hear your recent stay at Emerald Grande did not live up to your expectations. I apologize about the elevators, but we have been undergoing some routine maintenance on them, and have had to take one down at a time to do so. Sounds as if there was some confusion about the housekeeping, but we will only do a tidy clean daily, and a sheet change once a week if you stay longer than 5 nights.
