I stayed at HS for two weeks and found the Doctors and nurses and therapist were all really great. The place was clean and the food was all most always good.

My dad was at HealthSouth for several weeks in 2013/2014 following a surgery on his spine. It was very clean & bright - not at all a typical nursing home atmosphere. The food was healthy and fresh, and the nurses, therapists and doctors were all awesome. Their therapy programs are intense (several hours a day) which is great. The nurses are very caring, responded quickly to calls, and didn't seem rushed or overworked. I would have given 5 stars, but there were some issues with medications not being given on time, which they ... read more

If your family member needs physical rehab and has serious medical issues, I would not recommend this place. My mother needed physical rehab after falling and injuring one of the vertebrae in her neck, but then died 3 days after being admitted to Encompass Health in Mesa. She had prior medical issues, so we were told that her care would be managed by a medical team which included an M.D., only to find out that an M.D. was let go and no longer on staff the day my mom passed away. We don't believe she was ever under the car... read more

my grandson was there for about a week. the therapy staff was top notch, but nursing and tech's response time was the worst I've ever seen. my grandson ended up with a couple of really bad rashes due to failed hygiene. once it took them an hour and a half to clean him up after he soiled himself. we complained several times but things didn't improve, so we moved him to another facility. we are much happier here.
