It was fine but... The bathroom had mold and that shows evidence of long term lack of attention.
No breakfast on the weekend In reviewing expedia site in setting up my reservation at homestead-phila,it states they serve breakfast all the time.However upon checking in we are told only mon-fri only.If i had known this i may have chosen a diffrent location.also the location if you use either googgle maping or mapquest they will tell you to take first exit which is wrong because roadway is separated by concrete island.you must take 2nd exit for malvern.
Could use better beds The Homestead was what I had expected after researching and reading the ratings on line. This is a clean, no frills motel which is what we were looking for. The front desk staff were more than helpful and very friendly even when we checked in at 1:00am. You have to ask for extra or clean towels and linens but again this was what we expected and really liked the idea that no one would be entering our room while we were gone - unless we requested something. A few issues, but not terrible Comfy bed, the sitting area was nice. No frills hotel. We stayed there because the fourth night was free. The shower and tub were not cleaned properly. There were isolated little black hairs. Not a whole bunch, but enough to gross you out. The location was okay...It was kind of inconvenient that there was a divider in the road so that you could only turn right out of the parking lot. We had to wait about fifteen minutes to be checked in. The front desk had sign that directed us to a courtesy phone. We saw none. The room was not clean. There was hair (not sure if it was human or animal hair) all over the bathroom.

The hotel itself was not clean, there was moldy food in the trashcan in a room that was to have just been cleaned. There were no cups no coffee or tea. The cabinets were all peeling and chipped. The air conditioner did not work properly and needed a battery in the remote. The room key took eight or 10 times to open the door. The workers were relatively rude. You could not use the public bathroom in the lobby. The hallway smelled like dogs. I can say, however, that the bed was comfy and the towels were nice.

I received a call at 3pm saying that they were unable to honor my room reservation with 2 beds. I told them I needed 2 beds and would need to cancel. I made other arrangements more than an hour out of my way. I was then charged even though they canceled on me!
