terrible business, completely unethical. They will get you in with a low rate and then double or triple it and continue to do that over and over. Don't ever do business with these people.

I only stored my things here for 3 months and when I returned EVERYTHING was covered in rat poop. They said it should have bought insurance.

HORRENDOUS Experience at Extra Space on Clement in Alameda My experience at this location was frustrating from start to finish. The office was locked during working business hours, and I left several voicemails over time -- none of which were ever returned or followed up on. Anytime I needed help with billing, gate codes, or basic questions, there was simply no one available. On top of a trash business, they like to tow handicap - while leaving other cars parked, and having no signs posted to claim you cannot park there or ones that are dubious at best.

I've have rented numerous storage units in my life and this by far has to be the worst I have gotten. Bad ownership, racist, and the property smelt like 3 day old diaper. Would not recommend.

04/07/25- Update. Today my wife went to the storage and found out they removed our lock and placed another lock on it for the soon to be auction. It's been 7 days and they never removed it after I paid. My wife says our things in our storage was moved around and some expense shoes were missing. F*ck this place

Best customer service. I have been this place today to get my stuff in my storage. I coun't open the door at my unit. Asked he/she custom service to help. He/she was walking with me and was told me I am not always to help you to open the door. You need to open by yourself. Wth he/she said. The door is very hard to open, he/she couldn't open with his/her hand too. He/she went back to the office to get tools. As others have mentioned in the reviews, if you rent here based on a promotion or web rate, be prepared to have the price increased without proper notice. I rented an 8x16 unit in September for a web rate of $248. They increased it in December to $344 without proper notice, never received a letter nor saw any notice in my account online, an almost 39% increase!
