I put in my 10 days notice to move out and I came here the day before my last day to get my things and had a different lock on my door for a delinquent pay from a few months back they never removed. Unfortunately I came here on a Sunday when the office was closed so I was unable to retrieve my things, rented a truck for no reason and now only have one day left to be out. Not sure why they wouldn't have removed the wrong lock knowing I am going to be out and no one can come to the site to open it for me.
After storing my furniture for three years I go to get it out this week. First we notice the mold on a chair and my dresser. Then it becomes apparent that there is a hole in the roof of the unit. When I talked to the manager I get a vacuous gaze and -did you get insurance?Because they aren't responsible for a leak going through the roof of their units. There wasn't even a cursory apology. Worst storage ever, terrible service, elevator breaks all the time as usual, but the worst was their front gate (and only gate) broken the night before Thanksgiving 2017 so I could NOT get my stuff out in time for use on Thanksgiving for my family the next day, when it's only 6pm on 11/20/2017. I called the service center and they refused to help because it's the night before Thanksgiving. Ridiculous, I would never recommend anyone to use this storage site as the unreliability and service is total bullshit.
This facility needs to make a better commitment to maintenance. The elevator servicing the west building has been out of service for 2 months, which doubles labor costs loading in or out. I would not rent a storage chamber here if I had the choice to make again. Go somewhere else. Pay a little more. It'll save you in the long run.
The few people who have mentioned the sketchiness of this place in their reviews are 100% correct. I live nearby and can see down in to their parking lot and it is filled with interesting characters who do nothing but loiter all day and night. They most definitely aren't storing their stuff here and it is a wonder to me how they even get in. Management should get their crap together and figure out a way to make this place safer. I have been a renter here for three years. In the past two months the place has been in a considerable decline. The elevator has been broken with no estimate on when it will be fixed. The customer service has been very poor and the place is filthy. There are never carts available because of the broken elevator and the security is very lax (meaning there are homeless people hanging around at night) which makes it feel dangerous. There used to be a wonderful manager here. Since he left the elevator and the front security gate have been broken for over a month. Management thinks it's fine for paying customers to spend an extra 15 minutes wheeling a heavy cart through the narrow dark hallways from one end of the building to the other. They don't see any urgency to fix it or do too much else to take care of this facility.
BEWARE! I started with extra space 3 months ago signed a contract and all the sudden out of nowhere I get a notice that my monthly charge will be increased $20 a month. Unacceptable!!!! Losing a customer and going somewhere else. Not cool. Beware when signing up!
Be very very careful of this place. They get you signed up for a low price but in a month or so they raise your rent. I first started at about $130 a month but some how now it's $189. And if you are late on your payment then you get slapped with late charges. And when you want to end the contract you have to time it right or you have to continue paying the rest of the month. It's the biggest racket.
