Unsafe facility going on restricted gate hour lockdown. This facility is so unsafe that it is being locked down on March 6, 2023. Due to break-ins and the high number of homeless living INSIDE the actual storage units (I witness them on a regular basis for the past 4 years) they have decided to only allow access to the facility when the office is open which will be M-Fri 930-6PM, Sat 900-530PM and Sunday 10-4PM. Very misleading. I made a reservation online and they didn't tell me that you had to climb a ladder to get the storage unit.
They suck. Rates go up all the time for such a small rental space. Placing charges on my account without authorization.

THIS IS A COMPANYWIDE POLICY AND TACTIC SO IT AFFECTS ALL LOCATIONS, NOT JUST THE ONE I RENTED FROM. Do not rent from Extra Space Storage. 1. Hidden in their agreement is that they can (and do) raise your rent at any time. 2. After ONE MONTH at the advertised rate that I signed up for ($167/mo) they raised it by 50%!!! 3. Renter beware the prices are subject to change twice a year. which means an increase on your overall rental. In addition to the poor customer service given by Latoya. Moreover, I did not get the 1st month free as indicated. And I think there needs to be a change in the infrastructure to reestablish Business ethics.

thefts and break-ins occur weekly, on february 19th, 20 units were broken into including mine. over $10,000 worth of my belongings were stolen. upon the lapd pacific division arriving, they informed me units are taken from weekly. do not, i repeat, do not rent a storage unit here. my police report incident number is: 220303001767. i was not called to be notified until march 1st, by phone. the staff at extra space does not notify you that you must call the lapd on-site to file a police report. the building and perimeter are ... read more

Stay away from this Storage facility. The manager Mayra is nasty and extremely rude. Be careful to keep good notes about when (or not) they've contacted you. And be prepared for MANY fees that are in the fine print. I've never experienced such an unfriendly staff. Why Extra Storage keeps Mayra on the payroll is beyond me.

I was robbed within a week of moving in. The staff and company as a whole was extremely unresponsive and unhelpful when I discovered it and reported it. They wouldn't check the video footage for me, and then claimed that the cameras were down. Also, I was misled - I was told to go to the police station for a police report to report to claims, and at the police station I was told that they couldn't write a report because when a burglary to a locked building happens, the police need to be called to the scene. I am so annoyed that all my stuff is gone.
