Overall, the lines were super long, so by the time we were seated, it took almost an hour of standing in line with a bowl to get our food. I would have liked to get a second plate, but I couldn't spend all night standing in line again. We had a few older folks with us who could not stand in line that long from the get go, so it make the dinner a bit of a bummer because they couldn't get up to make plate. Heading to Fire & Ice for the 3rd time on Father's Day was- not the best choice. Each time I've brought a large group of people with me but this time they sat us in the bar area and the bartender didn't seem to want to pay much attention to our party. The busboy was around regularly to take away our plates but the bartender/waiter rarely came back to see if we needed anything nor did he give the table the explanation about buns, cheese, omelette station, pancake station... After waiting in line, it was just more waiting in line. It felt more like a glorified cafeteria than anything else. Had zero atmosphere! The advertising didn't match what we arrived to. It was nearly all teenagers or very young adults. Even though we had reservations, we didn't stay to eat.
After reading several good reviews, we tried Fire & Ice and were disappointed. Maybe we had the wrong expectations. But, the combination of a modified salad bar + sauté/noodle bar and the frenetic ambiance experience of trying to build your own ingredient bowls along with those of your kids (we have three) was just too much. Felt like a factory and took forever to get your food cooked.
My group of 10 people were seated outside as it was starting to rain. The wait staff told us that we would have umbrellas and heaters by our table. When we sat down there were no umbrellas put over our table. I asked our waiter if we could get some umbrellas put over our table, but they said no because it would create a fire hazard. Looks to be a good place to hang out- happy hour, decent bar list. Not so good for a romatic date night, which was what we were hoping for. Would be a better choice for girls/guys night out. We were told to come back for brunch, which we are interested in. Waitstaff was helpful and pleasant, but not entirely knowlegeable about special holiday menus, or regarding wine selection.
