I don't really understand the appeal of having to get your own food and stajd around to watch someone cook it but reviews seemed fun. No one really appeared to be having fun unless they were taking a selfie. Food was ok but didn't feel like waiting in line for the next round.
Do not go here unless you like loud noise, a chaotic environment and dirty floors. The first thing that struck me when I walked in was the trash all over the floors. The restaurant is super noisy and there are people milling about everywhere getting their food. Out waitress was nice but arrived with stained clothing and gave us bowls that were dirty;( I guess the food was fine but I honestly couldn’t get past the atmosphere to enjoy it. Never again....
Chaotic confined dirty unorganized food mediocre at best. No organization when getting food at different bars. No organization when waiting to have food cooked. Constantly instructed to go to different spots. Tables very close and no one cleaned them promptly.
Fire and Ice is always great. This time was no different. I wasn’t thrilled about where they insisted to seat us. Against a pole in the middle of the place. I marked it was a date, they could have given us a booth or at least out of the way where people weren’t constantly tripping over us. Also they couldn’t figure out how to get the open table tab to work - not a big deal.
If we ever go back it definitely will not be on a Saturday at 5:30. The cooks rushed the food, none of the veggies were cooked, and the steak was hard. Clearly they were overwhelmed, the food wasnt on the grill as long as it usually is. Tge sauce was thrown on, leaving it watery. Waitress screwed up the drink I ordered, and when I asked to return it for a different one (which I never do unless it’s horrible) she argued it with me. The concept is interesting, but I was really worried about hygiene and cleanliness. You get a bowl and fill it with raw ingredients you want to eat, everything from vegetables, grains, meats, seafood and spices. Then you pick a sauce, take it to a common cooktop. The restaurant is rundown and in need of a good cleaning / refurbishment. The service was awful!!! The waiter disappeared - never cleaned off our table and we waited way too long for the check. The concept is fun but during flu season better sanitation measures should be taken. I witnessed several people sneezing and sniffling into their hands, not using sanitizer and grabbing serving utensils. Very gross!!
Wasn’t very pleased to find out when we showed up for our reservation that the student discount was not available on the certain Monday we went. Would have loved to have known this beforehand as it was a friends birthday and we ended up not eating due to the prices and was left without a birthday dinner. Quite disappointed in the communication
I was a guest at your restaurant yesterday, Monday 2/19 (President’s Day), and unfortunately feel as if my party and I were mistreated.
