Renew contract was easy, and got lower plan what I have now.

This company is a complete scam. They made the average billing option sound so appealing, but failed to mention that the variance every month is compounded and has to be paid either at the end of the contract or if any changes are made to the contract. We found this out when we were one year into our two year contract. THEY changed our account number, therefore making a change to our account with out consent and we were all of a sudden stuck with a $635 bill! I have been a Gexa Energy customer for over 10 years, but their customer services has recently taken a nose dive. On December 8, they sent me a notice that my account number was going to change as a result of their billing system being switched to a new platform. Then, on December 21, they sent me my monthly bill, with the old account number. I have been a Gexa customer for over 20 years and have always paid my statements on time. A new contract started in November 2020 and Gexa failed to send me a statement. 2 weeks after the statement due date they disconnected my power I received no notice that I was about to be disconnected and had to call to find out why and how much I was in arrears. I paid the $75. due on on line and they said they would restore my service in 2-4 hours. Apparently 20 years of paying my bill on time did not deserve being notified they would... read more

Horrible customer service!! Disconnect my electric 4 days before my requested service transfer date!! Told me it was there mistake but nothing could be done!! I will not continue to be a customer!!

I just moved here from California Nov. 6th and had power transferred into my name with Gexa. I then received a thank you for being a new customer letter with account number. On the 16th of November my power gets shut off with no warning at all. I was told it was because who ever lived there before didn’t pay their power bill. It took 3 complete days of talking and begging on the phone to finally get a representative to actually tell me they needed a certain form filled out to declare I live at this address. WORST company ever!! I don't even want to give them 1 star, but that's the lowest I can choose. I have attempted 6 times to get a switch hold taken off of my account, and all 6 times, Gexa customer service has told me they put the request in and it will take 24-72 hours for the witch hold to come off. The switch hold is still on my account and I am not under contract with them. I have even emailed the CEO of the company to inform him of the issue since nobody else from Gexa can do the job, but I have yet to hear from him. Te... read more

I called on Thursday morning to get set up, they said electric would be on the next day. They called at 4:45 pm he next day, a Friday, to say they could not get electric on, needed a permit. Now without electricity over the weekend.

I had an issue with getting the electricity turned on. The customer service person named Carlos was very kind and helpful and told me I needed to send additional proof regarding credit and my service would be turned on in 1-2 hours and to immediately call in and let them know when I sent the information. It happened within 5 minutes. I immediately called customer service to let them know I needed the electricity ASAP. I was then told that it would be 24 hours.
