I had an issue with getting the electricity turned on. The customer service person named Carlos was very kind and helpful and told me I needed to send additional proof regarding credit and my service would be turned on in 1-2 hours and to immediately call in and let them know when I sent the information. It happened within 5 minutes. I immediately called customer service to let them know I needed the electricity ASAP. I was then told that it would be 24 hours. I told them that could not wait that long and it was very importa... read more

Would give them a 0 if I could . I originally signed up for a plan that would have me pay 10 cents per kw . I was happy because I moved in to a one bedroom and knew I wouldn’t be using too much electricity . My first bill came at $100 and I didn’t even reach 900 kw . My second bill came at $160 and I only used 500 kw . I called and was not given a good reason as to why my bill was ridiculously high other than “ you signed up for the wrong plan so your rate is 17 cents per kw . Terrible customer service . Terrible experience ... read more

I had a great first year with Gexa. I live in an apartment and my bill was low. When I Went to renew, I asked multiple times in multiple ways and asked for assurance that the cost would be the same. I was assured that it would be. Then all of a sudden my bill skyrocketed! I had a friend who works for Centerpoint look at my bill who told me that yes, the salmon probably used choice words to take advantage of and deceive me. My little apartment's bill was $122 when my parents who live in a large house paid $175 the same month.... read more

I signed up with Gexa Friday October 2 paid my deposit and was scheduled to have my electric turned on the 5th. Left our closing and went to the house and we had no power. I called them and I was told my electric was on. And then it was discovered that the address the electric company has is different than every other utility company and even google. With the electric it’s North where everything else is South. So then I was put on hold for hours. I went and paid the deposit to get the water turned on and rented my mail box a... read more

I was a customer of Gexa Energy and submitted a cancellation request because I was moving to a new apartment. (I was at the end of my contract anyways.) I sent an email requesting to cancel on August 19th. (due to 48 minutes on hold, and then getting hung up on). The email, which was also to prove time stamps, was sent in July. JULY. Flash forward to September and I finally get all of the mail that has been forwarded from my previous apartment, and it turns out that while Gexa DID get my email, they DID NOT cancel my service... read more

Get transferred around all the time. Always on the phone waiting for "a specialist" to help. Can't seem to get their information correct.

I knew what my energy usage was each month, so when I signed up to Gexa, I expected my bill to be around $300/month. When my first bill of $650 arrived I was shocked, and when I called them they explained that the $0.065kwh that had been advertised, was only for the first 1000kwh and after that I was being charged $0.135kwh, more than double what I expected! So I asked if they had a tariff that better suited my usage, but after an hour and 15 mins on the phone they said they couldn't find a deal that would lower my bill, so ... read more

Thought I was signing up for a good plan then i received the highest bill I have ever had. They sign you up for a cheap rate then I was gouged for another $120.00 for TDU delivery charges, plus add their $35.00 base charge and my electric bill goes from $211.00 to 377.00! 12.5 cents a KWH after I signed up for 7.34 cents . I am so very tired of being ripped off. Plz stay away from this company, don't make the mistake i made.
