There was miscommunication. I called the property to request for ground floor bedroom and someone assured me that there is available ground floor bedroom for my disabled son. During check in the bedrooms are all upstairs. We struggle for 2 nights to bring my son upstairs. We travel for almost 8 hours and very disappointed with the cottage. Coffee maker is not working properly. The bed is noisy when you move. The cottage needs updating. Bathroom shower is difficult to regulate water temperature and heater is not working.
Checked in and the carpet was dirty. The heater only kept half of the cottage warm and the bedding needed to be updated/replaced. I got charged for a cleaning fee that wasn’t written anywhere before I made my reservation.
Business response:
Thanks for you input and thank you for staying with us
The cabin they gave me is in very bad condition, it has a very bad smell, the beds are not comfortable at all, the jacuzzi sheds fiberglass, I came out of the water all over my body and something very strange happened at dawn, the jacuzzi turned on by itself and then it went off turn off that was very scary that happened in the cabin #10
Business response:
SORRY TO HEAR OF YOUR EXPERIENCE. WE HAVE LOOKED INTO THIS AND MADE SURE EVERYTHING IS GOOD.
There were no paper towels and the lobby closed early and opened late. It was good for the price and clean but dated. And hot water was an issue. Not enough hot water for one person to shower
Business response:
We are sorry for your inconvenience. Thank you for staying with us.
We booked a two night stay because of work issues we could not stay any longer. After receiving a confirmation we got a call from the hotel saying we had to add another night because they had a three night minimum. they ended up cancelling our reservation completely.
These are individual cabins for families. I like that they are spaced out and have some privacy. These cabins are very dated and rooms are tight. Our bathroom is very tiny, 2 steps to the sink, shower, and toilet. The standing shower can barely accommodate someone who is 6 feet tall and 180 lbs, with no room to turn or bend to clean your toes. The bedrooms are small as well. The cabin is design for petite people, lots of upgrade needed. We like the charm of the cabin, but not comfortable to stay for more than 2 days.
Business response:
Thanks for choosing us again for your stay in big bear. We loved having you
One of the unit we stayed smelled like a cat litter box. Everything is rundown. Also, extra charges for cleaning fees which is not disclosed through Expedia. Staff is nice and helpful and the pool is nice
Our cottage was in the middle of a construction site. No water or water filter as promised. Wifi did not work and no contactless checkout either. There were ants EVERYWHERE. Some of the key things (ie wifi amenities cleanliness) that was highlighted was missing. Very disappointing
Old,very dirty carpet
Business response:
The cabins are all old and rustic. That’s part of the charm of our property.
