Piece of junk Piece of junk! The instructions are made for an IT expert. Can’t get it connected and assumes all PCs still have CDs!! Never will buy Brother again. Total waste of money..
You CAN get out of Deep Sleep mode!!!!! This is for all of you who have fallen victim to Brother's insidious Sleep Mode. You CAN turn it off. Her's how: go to your menu and get to the Sleep time option. Click OK to view the minute setting. At the same time press DOWN and CANCEL. You will see the Deep sleep option! Press OK to toggle Yes or No. You're welcome.
Sleep mode major issue Searched online for video to guide me through the sleep mode ( Set up, Economy, sleep mode) circling back many times and never could just turn it off. used tech support did not work. the buttons on the front never matched up to instructional videos on how to turn off Sleep mode. The printer defaults to sleep mode and therefore WiFi is connected but will not print. Spent hours trying to figure it out. Might be me but it was a pain in the butt. Finally just returned it and bought the Brother HL Wireless ... read more
Run Away, Run Away!! I bought this printer to replace a Brother HL-5170DN unit that was taken out with a lightning surge. I loved that printer for its quality, features and reliability. When I had to replace it, the HL-L6200DW seemed like a great option with all the same features and more. I don't print that much, so the printer was put online, tested okay and was used sparingly for 3-4 months. That's when the print quality issue first raided its ugly head. Printed output on recommended paper using the Brother supplied toner... read more
Not bad for 12 months. The Brother HL-L6200DW printer seemed to be the perfect solution for my small office printing needs. The duplexing feature is great. The speed is good. The print quality for text was excellent, and for images fairly good....for 12 months. At the 12 month mark the quality plummeted drastically. I have been troubleshooting everything by the manual with no luck. My drum life is still only at 70%. I have cleaned it and all other components exactly according to the manual. New toner cartridges. Nothing help... read more
Pour web site and customer support experience. Expensive toner. I tried to recycle a starter toner cartridge which comes with this printer, and this were worst web site and support experiences of this year. Brother has a cartridge recycling program, they advertise to provide a free USPS shipping label to send used cartridges. First, site asked me to register. Alright, makes sense, though every site which disallow to copy-paste password is wasting my time. Then, they ask me to enter a cartridge model and a serial number which... read more
I end up wasting so much time dealing with Sleep Mode I hope this printer last but so far print quality is not that great and I always end up wasting so much time dealing with the sleep mode. It will be worth the price only if it lasts.
Print quality is not clean: toner specks on page The printer produces random specks on the page, so the printed page looks dirty. It is brand new! So the problem is clearly a defect, not something that is due to wear. I logged into Brother's support page and chatted to someone but they were totally unhelpful. They should by all means offer to replace the printer or at very least send out replacement drum and toner cartridge. Instead, they want me to spend time trying to fix the issue myself. It is new and does not work. They... read more
Horrible printer! This is the worst printer ever. We thought the first one we received was a lemon, but the second was the same. The quality is awful and can’t be fixed. Huge waste!
