Terrible print quality The print quality was fine for a couple of months. Then started getting vertical lines over the whole page. I've tried all the recommended cleaning suggestions but can't make the lines go away. I have other models of brother printers that work great.
Poor Quality print I bought this printer to replace the same printer, which I had worn out in about 9 months. The print quality had declined to the point I could no longer use it. Spots and smudges on paper. I would open the printer and clean the various rollers, and could get OK quality for a short time. It was a cheap printer and it worked fine for a while. The new printer arrived and it gave me the same poor print quality from day one. I can clean the rollers and get very short term improvement but it is very frustrating ... read more
Horrible Printer - Junk The worse Printer I've ever owned. Horrible print quality. I wanted a basic black and white printer and it never worked right. The first one I got didn't print well with ink smear running on each print. And when I returned the second one was just as bad. I should have just returned the second one. It was a complete waste of money. I could not be more disappointed in the print quality with smearing ink on print. Never have I ever got one single print that didn't have black smear on it. Finally decided ... read more
This printer is no good. I bought this printer in December 2017. It is a Brother HLL6200DW. It has never worked properly. It puts toner all over the page or two. See the attached image of the first page of a print job. I have talked to Brother tech support several times since I bought it, with no satisfaction. I tried cleaning the printer every few days thinking the problem might clear up. January 2018. I finally called Brother tech support. They said to clean the printer, which I did (again). But a few days later back to th... read more
Wrinkles paper and tech support sucks Tech support is a dumpster fire. They want to do everything they can to not fix their printers. These printers don't last anymore. Around 2010 I could get one to last for at least a couple of years, I can't even get these new ones to last 8 months. I'm pretty sure I'm just going to have to give up and buy something else.
Printer doesn't work This is the most bizarre printer I have ever owned. It goes offline in the middle of a print job. It takes forever to download the data to print, even the most simple word documents. Not a single attempt to print has been easy or completely successful. Try to print a 3-page simple PDF form, and it prints the first page and gives the error single at the second page then goes offline. My wife and I can't figure it out, and it's not like we aren't tech savvy. It's been a horrific experience, and I would nev... read more
Splotchy printing It seems others have experienced the same problem: Printouts come out splotchy/dirty. When I removed the cartridge to inspect, I found toner dust everywhere along the drum assembly. Was this a poorly-manufactured toner cartridge? Sure seems like it. This printer and toner was a brand new purchase. My attempts to follow Brother's instructions on cleaning the assembly were in vain; resulting printouts using white paper came out streaky and displaying a patina of gray. I've been happy with other Brother printe... read more
Not connecting on Ethernet. So far a challenge to change settings. The DEEP SLEEP is useless and and a REAL PAIN. Most dissapointing Brother printer so far. Print quality looks great when you just print test and setup sheets. I will update this review if I ever get it working.
Awful design. Worst. Just annoying.
