Terrible print quality Ink smudges all down the side and constantly needs cleaned and new drum added. :( Boo
slide green tab... It keeps shutting down and telling me to slide the green tab...over and over no matter how many times I slide the green tab...really bad purchase. It creases several pages until the printer gets warm and then prints well...but that green tab error. I do not know if it is the printer or the high yield toner cartridge that I am using in it. It seems to be dropping lots of toner in the drum unit. no matter how many times I vacuum...still drops toner...
Bad drum after 200 pages After less than 200 pages and 4 months I started getting smudges on paper. I called brother support and they walked me thru a cleaning process. They decided the drum was bad and I should go by a new drum. A new drum after 200 pages? Shame on you Brother, those drums are expensive and if I can only get a ream of paper out of a drum then what is the point. Moving on to another printer company...
Continual jamming This printer failed after about a year and a half and now jams pretty much after every single page.
Trash This printer is a joke. Constant jams. Just shuts down and demands a new cartridge even though it is still printing just fine. Brother just wants your money over and over again. They are not interested in providing a good product. NEVER AGAIN.
Buyer beware I liked this printer when it was new, even though I'd have the occasional creased page when using the duplex function. But at 8000 pages, and with 50% toner left in the original cartridge, I am getting pages spotted with toner in random areas. I took out the cartridge and found toner all over the inside, and the cartridge itself leaks like a sieve. I've seen reviews of off brand toner cartridges that don't do this (apparently many have had problems with the Brother-brand cartridges), so my hope is that I can get... read more
Error Messages and Deceiving Warranty I've had this printer for only 5 months and it has begun to malfunction. I'm constantly getting error messages that stop the printing process. We have to clear and restart to get the printer to work. This happens at least once every time we try to print. I tried to get this fixed by contacting Brother, thinking I would have no issues because this item supposedly has a 1 year manufacturers guarantee (as described in this listing) but they're telling me certain error messages aren't covere... read more
The worst print ever. The worst printer ever. Every sheet of paper is heavily streaked and spotted with black ink. It is absolutely unusable. Waste of money.
Won't exit Sleep mode, draws lots of current prior to printing, dirty printing, poor interface. This printer never exits sleep mode when a print job is sent to it. In order to get it to print I have to power cycle it before or after sending a print job. It causes noticeable voltage droop when it starts printing (lights flicker). All printouts are noisy/smudged.
