About this business

Honeymoon Chicken Born from the playful culinary philosophy “where funky meets fancy,” Honeymoon Chicken takes the art of fried chicken to a new level of sophistication and creativity. The chef-curated menu is crafted by the illustrious king of BBQ, Chef Rob Sonderman, who first graced DC with his low and slow meat cookery at Federalist Pig. Best described as a love letter to the delicious majesty of fried chicken.

I'm embarrassed it took so long to try this place. Everything about it is great. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday on a Tuesday night. The place was packed (a good sign), but they were able to seat us immediately at the bar. It's a hybrid table service model--you order online via QR code, and they bring your food to you. We tried the honeymoon chicken sandwich, jumbo crispy chicken tenders, rolls, seasoned wedge fries, mac & cheese, and honey-dipped sprouts. The dipping sauces (comeback, ranch, mumbo) were delicious. ... read more

The chicken is literally AMAZING AND JUICY. My partner got the sticky wings bc he's obsessed with wings and I got the spicy dusted 3 piece. The presentation is everything. Only taking one star off bc the dining area is so tight. If you are bigger in size like myself, you won't be able to fit in a booth. It was a tight squeeze for me! The food comes out quick. Don't miss the Tokyo tea. The staff was all hands on deck and I loved that. Great job this is def worth coming back to. I almost forgot to mention the sides, the rolls ... read more

Honeymoon Chicken is a delicious restaurant serving up all things korean fried chicken. Their innovation knows no bounds as they expand past the typical wing offerings and serve sandwiches, whole chicken pieces and even chicken bites. You order via QR code on the table and can keep a tab or pay from your phone, which makes it really easy to finish your meal/leave when ready. The restaurant itself is quite small but they offer both dine in and take out. They have limited indoor seating consisting of booths and bar seating wi... read more

We ordered catering for a work function. Cauliflower side was the best thing. Rolls were good. Chicken could use more seasoning.

Business response:

Hello Anna, this is helpful feedback about your catering order. Please contact us at info@honeymoonchicken.com so we can discuss further.

Absolutely delicious! The kale buraata salad, Parmesan wings, and hot honeymoon honeymoon friend chicken are worth a return trip. The restaurant is pretty small, so it was hard to fit our party of six at dinnertime so plan accordingly. The mango hot honey margs here are our favorite.

We're in town for the week from Texas. Being from the south I'm immediately skeptical of fried chicken not native to home. Although the food was absolutely phenomenal, the chicken, brussel sprouts, fried pie, mashed potatoes were all phenomenal. The people behind the bar were extremely fast and willing to help, we also were seated very quickly upon our arrival. The whole experience was a 10/10.

france has the eiffle tower, new york the statue of liberty, but D.C., D.C. has Michelin recognized fried chicken - this place actually has a cult following and instagram clout, so i was ecstatic to finally try it - my dining companion and I split a signature hot honey dipped bucket which came with 8 pieces of chicken and 4 rolls - the rolls are soft, reminiscent of Texas Roadhouse rolls, the honey butter is the best part - the chicken was definitely not your average fried chicken. the pieces were massive, a thin outer of ... read more
