Took 1 hr to seat us with a reservation and checking in on time with the full party. Was super noisy.
We had high hopes for Joey Newport Beach, but unfortunately, our experience fell short. Right off the bat, the three of us were seated at what was clearly a two-person table. It was cramped and uncomfortable—we had barely enough space for our food, drinks, and water glasses. It felt like we were constantly shifting things around just to make room. JOEY is not the same anymore. The food was terrible. The salmon was smelly, indicating who stale it was, the seabass was bitter but we couldn't tell if it was the fish or the sauce that it was drown in! The sauteed mushrooms were tasteless and slippery! The texture just didn't feel right. I asked for some Sriracha sauce to put on the mushrooms. No idea why this place has 4.9… very overrated. Mediocre at best
I was excited to try this Restaurant. I made reservations for Joey at 9:15p.m. on a Saturday night for my Husband and I for a celebratory dinner. We arrived right at 9:15. It took us a moment to figure out where a host was to check in. Once checked in, the host offered us complimentary Champaign which was nice. We finally got seated at 9:30, which I was fine with. Chicken lettuce wraps all filler and barely any chicken .. mistakes on order in general
The food was outstanding and great! Had a great experience with the steak and sushi and apple pie dessert. It was quite upsetting to see the scandalous outfits the waitresses wore and would appreciate if management had their team dress professionally.
Food good but restaurant was very noisy which made conversation imposibe.
Service was terribly slow and food was mediocre for value.
