Very happy and grateful that Debbie was able to service my parents home in a day notice! Very impressed with their quick respond and work I Very happy to see my parents enjoying their cool home. Thank you Deb for all your hard work I most definitely and highly recommend it! Pleasant and quick response. Deb was so great in keeping me updated with the services and repair options. Reasonable prices and great service!

Called Kilowatt after our AC was having some issues and after looking at it for 5mins the technician said we needed a whole new unit which he kindly offered to do for $17k+. After getting two other opinions it turned out the unit just needed a top up of freon and now it's working as good as new. Unfortunately it seems as though some of these AC companies are more in the business of sales and less in helping with minor fixes.

Until very recently I had been very pleased with Kilowatt. However, I've learned that Dean has sold the business and retired and my interactions so far after that have not been satisfactory. Less than two years ago, we spent over $14,000 on Kilowatt rewiring our house, that is after we spent over $30,000 with them for a new air conditioner and they did really great work. NOT THE FAMILY BUSINESS YOU REMEMBER - Corporate Takeover & Warranty Issues If you are looking for the reliable, family-owned Kilowatt you used to know, keep looking. Kilowatt has been bought out by a large corporate entity called The SEER Group, and the service has plummeted. They are still trading on their old "family-owned" reputation, but they operate like a cold, unresponsive corporation that doesn't stand by its work. They say they respond within 10 minutes (after you fill out a bunch of information, where you live, what is your problem. You get an automated message within 10 minutes. Then you are directed to call them. You talk to a real person, who repeats all the same questions, including exact street address. She asks if it is an emergency and you say yes and says someone will call you right away. So you wait up waiting for the call, which doesn't come. Just had a terrible interaction with the tech who called me back, when I was trying to get A/C repair quote. On the yelp page it says free estimates, so that's what I expected to be able to get. They only do that for new systems, he said. Glad I caught it early on, before I made any appointments. He was pretty rude about it, and rambled on about all these reasons why "no one" does free estimates? Don't put it on your page if you don't, that's misleading. Edit: Wow. Just in case anyone from Westwood/Brentwood (Santa Monica Mountains area) sees this listing pop up, please note that they no longer service those areas. They only serve Sherman Oaks and no where else, and are unable to provide any recommendations of any other trustworthy AC companies. I had the chance to speak to the owner of Kilowatt last September and was provided free and useful info about our AC unit's warranty, and was invited to reach out to them again if we ended up needing to install a new unit. Kilowatt installed a new heating/AC in my home last year. Today i called for a annual service contract. WAY TO EXPENSIVE!! I told them forget it I will use someone else. The nasty woman at Kilowatt said if I use another company they will invalidate my warranty. I am using another company for future service and if they invalidate my warranty i will sue them. They are nasty people. Take your business to someone that appreciates it.
