Been a customer for years. Stopped doing automated payment on a payment plan because they weren’t suppose to do it. Now I canceled my service and they are charging me 362.00 To come pick up my tanks! Then 1.99 recovery fee per gallon! By the time it’s said and done it will cost me 860 dollars for them to come get the tanks that are completely full! Terrible business practices! Been customer for several years. Always prepaid for delivery but this Spring we were told we could no longer get a delivery as the contract period ran out….never mind they were holding onto almost $1000 of mine. Called and told they would refund after a restocking fee of $300. What? I never used the allotted propane and now they are charging me for not using it? Propane is selling everywhere in my area including gas stations for 3.40 a gallon and they charged my 4.99 per gallon to fill up and that’s because they said i was locked in or else they said i would have to pay 8.99 per gallon…should be a law against price theft

Kimlin Energy are deceiving and inconsistent in their communication and services. I have been a customer for a few years . The first year we were told we missed locking in the price the following year we signed contract which was told it was locking in the price but was later told it was a contract that allowed them to fill our tank and take money out of our account without authorization. Just terrible! Have only had this company for 3 months and have had so many problems with them. Seems like they can’t get it together as far a communication there. They canceled our first service appointment about 20 minutes before they were supposed to be there. A week later our heat wasn’t working. (In freezing January!!) Called and got told we had no service contract so we’d have to pay an emergency service fee. (We were told we DID have a service contract prior to this incident.). Over filled my tank. They sent a notice wanting more money. Why should I pay for an error your company made? But the good people we are. We offered payments which wasn’t good enough for them. So they threatened us with no deliveries until payment. The story has more to it but I choose to leave a part out to protect out privacy. But if I was to explain it I assure you they go into the wrong deeper.
We have been with Kimlin since we bought our house in 2012. Apparently we missed a payment somehow 6 months ago (we are on auto pay) and they took us off of auto delivery sometime after December (2 additional deliveries in October and December). Here we are in February and we run out of propane and call to see what's up. They want $350 to come out today plus the cost of the propane, otherwise they might be able to come out Monday or Tuesday. Distressed by the way Kimlin Energy has treated me as a customer of over 20 years. I had a locked in rate. Kimlin unilaterally canceled my contract and raised the almost doubled the cost per gallon without telling me. I only found out because I had an unexpected bill for over $850. I've been happy to use a local, locally-owed company for all my home energy needs but it is clear that the company is using deceptive practices, exploiting the goodwill of its customers, not behaving as a good neighbor.
