Racist staff! My mother went to look for lighting fixtures for our newly built bathroom. She went into the store with the expectancy of being treated like all the other customers. As soon as she went in, the manager passed by her and gave her dirty glances. Then this white couple comes in, and as soon as they did, the manager goes straight to them and says, "Hi, welcome, how can I help you?" Yet to my mom for being Hispanic was ignored. I purchased directy from the store and worked with a sale rep a $430 ceiling fan with addtional $30 wall control ( which the store sales rep chose as it was compatible with the fan) and installation for $100= $560. The Lamps Plus installer installed ceiing fan incorrectly and caused a crack in the ceiling and charged $25 additional for installing wall control even though I had already paid $100 for the installation. We purchased two chairs over the weekend at this location. We were EXTREMELY clear with the sales woman Delaram Kalantari that the chairs should NOT be shipped till the week of May 20th as our house is currently vacant and we won't be moved in till that week. She made a special note in the order not to deliver the chairs until that time. Then, I get an email yesterday saying my chairs have shipped and will be delivered either today or tomorrow. Just left the Torrance Store 20 minutes ago,the most rude sales experience I've had in years. I asked a question about an item an the young woman sales associate was very rude and dismissive. I told her thank you and left the store. I will never shop here again.
Found an LED desk lamp at their store on sale for $44.98 but when I went to pay for it the cashier told me the price is 129.99. She told me the sale ended but no one changed the price yet. That is not my problem it is theirs. They must honor the price listed otherwise it is clearly a bait and switch tactic! An unfair sales practice not to live up to their mistake. The better business bureau should hear of this.
I read online that Lamps Plus has Price Matching. I found a Lamp online listed at several sites for $109. Lamps Plus was listed at $159. I called the LP store I had purchased Bar Stools from recently, & asked if they Price matched. The reply was "Yes". I gave the Lamp information, she checked & came back & said they could not give me that amount of the price match, but offered me a discount. Just left this store, and if I could give this particular store a -5 I would! This is the 3rd time in three months that I have gone to this store and like another reviewer wrote there was a VERY RUDE woman behind the counter who would not help. I asked someone with a lamps plus shirt for help and she appologized saying that she didn't handle sales but would go and get someone. I hate to write negative reviews but this one is well deserved. I went to the Lamps Plus location in Torrance, CA right when they opened you would think that the customer service representative would have been helpful but she was not. I had brought in a picture of an outdoor wall mounted lamp that needed to be replace to support the needs of a 14 unit townhome complex. Just experienced the worst customer service of my life! Tien and Newman... are so rude and have 0 customer service skills! They are sarcastic and hot tempered can't believe such a reputable company like Lamps Plus can't afford new associate to represent them Such a shame that they sell beautiful items yet due to the poor customer service they have I will no longer be buying from them!
