The doctors and staff at Laurelwood Animal Hospital provide excellent care for the animals they see. We have had a difficult summer in losing one dog to cancer and having another recently diagnosed with a very serious illness. We have had the opportunity to work with. Drs. Earp, Erdman, and Franklin during this time and have found all three to be knowledgeable, caring, and diligent. I had an amazing experience with Dr Erdman and Laurelwood Clinic. My cat Oliver was a very sick kitty, but the vets here are patient, kind, and very empathetic to my situation. They kept me informed, educated about his condition and were very sensitive to my financial situation. This clinic came through after others completely failed me. Highly recommend them based on my experience.
All of the Vets are nice and I was always able to get my pet in immediately when necessary. However, they seemed to have trouble managing multiple medical issues over the course of the last few months of my dog's life. While the outcome in the end may have been the same I regret that the last 2 days of my dog's life were spent in a Vet hospital and not at home. Her severe separation anxiety was surely stressful and I would have wanted her to be at peace at the end of her life.
After four dogs, three cats, and a rabbit, we have a long history with Laurelwood and more specifically, Dr Erdman. We also have experience with a couple other local clinics. Suffice it to say no others come close to the sincerity, competence, nor empathy Dr Erdman has provided us and our pets. As a bonus, they don't try to up-sell you on unneeded services and products at every turn. I find that tactic highly annoying. Dr.'s Erdman and Earp are amazing. I can not say enough about these two! My grand pup and my pup are both patient's of this clinic. They provide excellent care and even follow up on Sunday with test results. The entire staff is wonderful.
My dogs and cats have seen Dr. Franklin for many years. I first met him when I was in high school and my mom drove my cat and I to an appointment with him because the cat had a hard-to-diagnose issue (I am now 40!). Dr. Franklin is simply the smartest, most knowledge vet around the Portland Metro area - wherever you live, it is worth the drive. He is also incapable of bullshit and will tell you the truth in layman's terms. I hope Dr. Franklin never retires.
Laurelwood has been amazing for our dog Jake. Friendly, insightful, caring and are great Dr's. Dr. Franklin made sure to call and check on Jake to see how he was doing.
Absolutely great! We took our newly-adopted, obese, emotionally-scarred, over-grooming cat with chronic vomiting and diarrhea to three other vets with absolutely no success before coming here. Dr Erdman is extremely competent, caring, and very nice, and the support staff are equally great. One of the best vet experiences ever. The five-star rating is entirely deserved!
Dr. Franklin and Dr. Earp provided excellent care to our 6 year old Basenji mix, Joey, through his 3 month struggle with IMHA. We got to know both men throughout and found them not only highly competent but genuinely invested and compassionate. Together we played every card at our disposal and though Joey was one who didn't make it, we couldn't have been happier with the care he was given from both doctors to the front desk staff and technicians.
