I am giving this visit two stars because the experience could have been much better. Unfortunately, this was not the first time I encountered issues at this salon. This was my fifth visit, and on two prior occasions, my hair was not thoroughly rinsed after shampooing, resulting in hair color staining my clothing. To start, I have been using M Reed color and products every four weeks for six years. I got my roots done a couple times at this locale and highlights once - they didn't turn out right and they redid. It was all fine. I now see their big weakness. This review is about Yola & Yola only. This employee was supposed to wash my hair after I got all over color done. First she didn't want me to sit where I was initially seated and had me move to the chair next to the one I was sitting in to wash my hair for no apparent reason. I returned to the shop requesting a consulting appointment since the hair color they gave me was terrible. ( too brassy, rather than a soft ash) Instead of helping me chose the correct color, the attendant simply had me look at photos to decide for myself. I thought this was a professional operation. Sadly, I had to make the decision myself. Is this because that don't want the responsibility? Or is it because they don't know? I'm very disappointed..

Very poor service. Not enough people working and you end up waiting in line for a long time. They also don't honor their promotions.

My 10th time here will definitely be my last after a really bad experience. In all fairness I had a number of good experiences with one particular colorist who is also a manager but the website doesn't allow you to request anyone anymore so it's a crapshoot. They also don't have a phone number for the location which is incredibly lame and not a great way to do business. They also charge the same as salons in Beverly Hills for basic color root touchups which is not exactly cheap - $90 unless you pay to be on their subscriptio... read more

I had my hair colored yesterday at the color bar Brentwood, CAand a few things happen. First my expensive handbag was on the counter the only place to put a bag and when I picked it up, there was hair dye underneath my bag on the counter I made the manager on site see that. I paid 180$ to see almost no difference at all. Plus, when I tried to call the number given prior to booking because I wasn't sure what to select, they told me that they couldn't help me with that. But then you have to book your appointment online??! So they're basically no help at all, I wouldn't recommend Also for that price, I'd expect someone to blow dry my hair, not have to do it myself

I was really excited to come to Madison Reed as the prices were within my budget and all the photos of the highlight/balayage clients were what I wanted... seemed like a great deal! Unfortunately, that was not the outcome that I got. I went in for a highlighted/sun kissed look and was told that it could be achieved and that it would be on the cooler side since I was avoiding copper tones.
