I am a long-time customer. My purple color had darkened and I asked for a lighter color. The stylist recommended I put bleached streaks in my hair because it showed no signs of damage and I hadn't done it in a while. I asked her if it would damage my hair she said "no". After she washed it out and combed it. My hair came out in large amounts on the brush!! She did not take fault with the results but instead said we won't do this process again. i have a monthly membership and color services are good but blow out services are really weak - I booked a blow out for the additional fee . girl blowing drying my hair clearly did not know how to blow dry hair professionally. hair was still damp when she finished and was about to send me on my way. had to ask for her to finish drying it and even after that looked like someone blast dried my hair rather than what was to meant be a professional blow dry

Don't waste your money, even if the services are cheap. I asked for a glaze and the stylist put it on half my head, not bothering to check how my hair was holding it before she sent me to get washed. Then another stylist washed my hair and got water all over me plus barely put in any conditioner. I then proceeded to get the worst blow out I've ever gotten - no styling cream was put in and the stylist got the brush stuck in my hair 3 times before I told her to rough dry the rest so I could leave. I had my hair done on August 30th. I asked to the hairdresser bleach my hair but he could not make it. He tried to fix it but was too late and it would damage my hair so I left the place. I had to pay 50 dollars in tips for this poor service. I told I wanted to be completely blond. He did not listen to me. Hair is damaged. Looks like I made it at home instead going to a professional place. So lame.

Terrible customer service Was waiting for 40 minutes to start color and another 20 minutes after my hair needed to be washed! Cancelled my blow dry no one really cared Very disappointing

I had very high hopes for this salon since I had seen so many ads on social media about their healthy hair color line. I felt like I was getting my hair done at a fast food restaurant instead of a nice NYC salon.The decor is dated and unsophisticated..not fresh and the salon is super bright, and the staff looks burnt-out. Absolutely terrible service. Hair washing was awful - they were very rough and not in a helpful way to get all the dye out. I left with hair color everywhere including my ears. And you'll get a lot of attitude to top everything off.

I came with a very light honey and left with a dark brown . They tried to convince me that it was an issue with the salon lights and that my hair looked the same as when I walked in. From my viewpoint, it seems that 80% of the people working there are not professional stylist but they were trained to apply color, hence they can't give or make an educated assessment of all the variables in play when applying color. Madison Reed is the fast food of the beauty salons.
