I tried the Madison Reed Color bar in Southlake for the first time today. Never tried MR products, but with all the ads popping up on FB, I was eager to try. I had a wonderful experience! The color we picked for a root touch-up (Barletta Brown for resistant grays) actually colored my hair perfectly! We chose the Crema gloss and it blended beautifully with my warm highlights, even removing the brassiness. Thank to Yelp I was able to check out this location. I opted for the root cover up and gloss. They go over color selection with you. Patricia took her time with me as I just wanted a natural black color for my hair. She made sure that all my grey was covered up. They then let you sit there for a bit for the color to process. I was so excited to give this new salon a try because I was intrigued by a place that just specializes in coloring hair. I wasn't sure what to expect but walked out loving the experience! I wanted to darken some blonde highlights since we are heading into winter. Maddie was my colorist and she had already reviewed my notes that I sent on-line when booking my appointment. This is by far the best experience I've had coloring my hair. I'm not huge on getting my hair colored because of my past experiences of having a pushy hair dresser or just leaving the saloon with my hair feeling fried. First the positives: - Nice clean and bright salon - Water, coffee or tea offered which is a touch I appreciate - Good selection of products and tools to do your own blow dry What wasn't so awesome: - I had to wait 15+ minutes after my appointment time as they were running behind. So fun! Full disclosure: I went as part of a Yelp Elite event, so my color and blow out were free. I had read through their website, so I already knew that they specialize in natural-looking color, which is what I wanted anyway. This was my first time to the Madison Reed in Southlake and I had a great experience! Once I arrived I was offered hot tea and coffee and seated right away. I had a consultation with my stylist and she took a before picture. I chose the clear gloss and blowout option. My stylist applied the gloss and then it took about 20 minutes to process. The entire team was welcoming! I never heard of a color bar before so I was interested to see how everything would go! I was nervous going in because I have long thick hair and I've only gone to one person out of state! Maddie was my colorist and she did a very good job! Love it! I'd seen the Madison Reed website recently, but really wanted to go into the salon to get some help choosing my color. They did not have the color I initially wanted in stock (they could have ordered it and had it shipped to my house, but I wanted to color my hair before this weekend), so I picked another (similar) color and...it is fabulous!
