Had a great visit at the Madison Reed Color Bar in Southlake. I chose to do a color gloss and blowout, and while I was given this for free as a Yelp Elite, my review is my own. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by their very friendly staff. This is a color bar/salon that specializes in coloring grey hair using state-of-the-art technology to perfectly match your hair color. One of the first things I noticed is that the photographs on the walls were of REAL middle aged women who obviously had their hair colored and not some 20 year old model pretending her hair color wasn't natural. I was provided a complimentary service at Madison Reed but my opinions are honest and genuine. I'll start by saying after 2 hours at Madison Reed my hair looks great. They offer a service that is genius. Come in and get a root touch up, add a temporary color glaze or a nice gloss and get an optional blow out to round out your refresh. I came in for a Roots Color appointment not knowing that it was mainly for women with gray hair. I have black natural hair and no gray hair, so this treatment was not for me. My colorist suggested that I do a color reviving gloss and blowout instead, and I LOVE the results! The "gloss" is basically a semi-permanent toner + hair treatment in one, kind of like purple shampoo for blonde hair; you can choose from a very wide range of different "tones", and your hair will take on this color when it catches in the light. Ummm, I look like a totally different person. So, let me tell you about Madison Reed. It's sanctuary. An oasis in a shopping square! You walk in and are immediately greeted and offered something to drink. And everything is clean! This place oozes with girl power vibes. Inspirational quotes are everywhere! Next you're taken to a consultant, who takes pictures and creates a profile for you. This way you get to see a before and after! How cool. Upon entry you are greeted by the staff and offered a beverage. The decor is fresh and industrial with pops of purple and lots of motivational aspects. The mirrors say "hello beautiful" and there is a mural about confidence and loving yourself. Definitely what the world needs more of, positivity. As a Cosmetology student I don't recommend this salon unless you want to waste your time and money. When I first came to this salon I had booked 2 weeks in advance because I didn't want any complications and all I wanted was simple highlights. this was my first time Madison Reed in Southlake although all of the staff was very I did not get the service that I wanted. I will be contacting customer service this morning. I went in for blonde highlights and came out with streaks of red instead of the blonde that I asked for. It's very hard to tell in the salon and was not noticeable how red it was until I got home completely unsatisfied I could've colored this myself at home if I had known that, I was not gonna get the services that I paid for I am furious.

This place has really gone down the drain. It used to be so well ran but I guess new management has changed that. Some of the stylists are rude and unprofessional. They seem to have a bug issue even finding roaches on the sanitary brush drawer and crawling around the salon floor. Really disappointing considering the location this salon is in. Please do better! People want to come to a place that is properly sanitize and spending $$$ we don't want to see roaches crawling around! Will not be back and possibly going to a differ... read more
