I am in the middle of building a home with your company and I am very disappointed with the customer I have received since we signed our contract. My emails are not getting returned plus they date they gave us for the closing keeps changing. We might have to store all our belongings for weeks because we were lied to. The company they recommended for our loan also has not not returned multiple emails. We are very much regretting our decision to trust you with our future.

I have purchased several new homes and this is by far the worst experience and poorest quality home I've had . From the punch list items that were supposed to be completed before I moved in (I was lied to) To the muddy streets the construction manager refuses to have cleaned on a regular basis. I have been in my home for almost 3 months and people are still coming in and out to complete the items on the original punch list. Worst building experience ever. We move fairly frequently and this is our 5th home owned over the past 18 years (2 others were new construction). Options at design center were a bit limited, but I hoped for the best figuring I could replace the ugly lights and bathroom fixtures later. Wish this was going to be my only cost post-close. Lack of any care with our home during the construction process has resulted in paint overspray on everything. They promised to have it all cleaned off before closing but that didn't happen... read more

In addition, while redoing our shower, we found a live wire under the tile that had been nicked and covered. It arched when the tile was removed. A live wire IN THE SHOWER!!!!

I am absolutely disgusted with Meritage. We have been in our home almost 10 years and continue to find evidence of sloppy craftmanship. We found trash under our sod when we built our pool. We found trash under our carpet when we pulled it up to put in tile. Today we are redoing our horrible shower and found trash under the floor tiles in the shower. It never ends, if I had more space you would hear it all.

The sale management of Meritage homes in Austin is very bad. The vice president of Meritage MS Janet has very poor sales experience and mostly ignores the customers to respond to their concerns, And in the end ignore the customers. I signed a contract and five times had visited and finished to the designed center and paid $11192.00 as an Ernest money and upgrade, and had a prequalification for Mortgage, still, after three weeks Meritage canceled without saying a word.
