The purchasing process is smooth. My sales couselor Julia is a great help. BUT, things went bad after the purchase. There are several issues of the house that are not even fixed even AFTER the closing date. It is really hard to communicate with Meritage Homes. Even when they reply to the requests, they do not fix the issue. It has been more than 1 month since the closing date, but my roof and garage are still yet to be fixed. Home is sheet rock house. Even Standard stuff that comes with other builders are an update for them. Their will be many surprises along the way that will cost you more money. They will start you at low price. You will end up paying way more.

We were approved with signed contract and down payment. Decided to void agreement. The worst customer experience with the sellers agents, sales manager, and RVP of Atlanta division. We loved the community and home. Just mistreated from the beginning to the end. Neighbors had same issues. If only we could of dealt with someone professional and courteous.

Let me start this review by saying the one star is for the Meritage Homes realtor that we dealt with, not the actual home. The quality that Meritage Homes delivered on our house was impeccable. The home itself is beautiful and we are 100% satisfied with the home. The finishes are beautifully designed and very in-style with today's standards. We are not at a place where you would want to be critiqued! First appearance product is good; however, once we are in & looking at details, the workmanship is shabby. On top of that when asked about the 5”spiders & 4” bugs, we received a 5 year old’s explanation about bugs coming in from outside & house would be cleaned but no exterminating is included. RUN!!!!!!! do not buy a house from Meritage... i read the review before i started to build and said all the negative things cant happen to me. BUT they did!! RUN. Meritage will act like they care about you in the beginning but they do not after you drop the first dollar. The warranty process with Meritage sucks! I will never buy or recommend a Meritage home. When the warranty rep comes out to look at what you need fixed all you get from them is excuse after excuse - oh its the weather or that is the way it was manufactured. It almost seems like there more prepared with excuses than they are prepared with customer service. In my neighborhood most of the people I have spoken to are having the same issues as me. Meritage's warranty process sucks!!! All you get when they come out is excuses as to why certain things are not covered and why they can't replace something but they will patch it. The warranty reps are more prepared with their excuses then they are with customer service. I will never buy or recommend Meritage to anyone and not even to my worst enemy! All Meritage does is string you along for the first year and then the day after your warranty expires they write you off like a bad debt. I wish i could give a negative star ra... read more
