Long overdue review! What an overall amazing experience. I'd like to say that Dodi was an absolute pleasure to work with during my time shopping at Mervis. It all began just over a year ago when my fiancee and I were casually looking at rings at various jewelers. The first time I stopped by here was informally as I was just starting to shop around for the ring. That said, I wanted to go somewhere with a good reputation so Mervis was at the top of my list - and also a couple friends had good experiences here which helped. First of all, my fiancee bought me a gorgeous ring from here that I couldn't be happier with. The problem has been with trying to get it resized since then. We went back in October for the "complimentary" ring re-sizing. I was never offered to sit down and barely even got past the entryway. My fiancé and I could not be happier with our experience at Mervis. We worked with Janette who is amazing! She helped us custom design a ring in order to include a pair of my fiance's mother's earrings which are a very special heirloom. Janette was very helpful in advising us on diamonds and the ring design while staying within our budget. She made the process easy and fun, and we never felt pressured in any way. My fiancé bought my engagement ring at Mervis and we had a good experience with Elizabeth so we went back to purchase wedding bands. We worked with Dodi in DC to pick out the bands. The visit went fine, I found a band that I thought would contrast and compliment my thinner engagement ring well even though my fiancé said he didn't think they looked good together. I visited Mervis on a referral from a good friend and colleague. I was referred to Dodi to help me find an engagement ring and it needed to have a vintage look. Dodi provided outstanding customer service and was extremely knowledgeable about the options that were available and in my price range. She made me feel comfortable and I was able to find the perfect ring!

This review is based strictly on the DC location, our experience at the Tysons location was a 5 star experience. My fiancé and I went to the Tacori event recently at the DC Tysons. We knew what we were there for (wedding band) and didn't require that much help. The Tacori rep and the female Mervis rep were wonderful, friendly, and helpful. The male who appeared to be the manager, however, was just plain off-putting. I wish I remembered his name. Mervis is expensive, however you do get what you pay for. GIA certified (highest diamond certification you can get), Free cleanings at anytime, and some ring companies (like Tacori) offer free maintenance which is great for a lose stone or something like that. I couldn't have been more pleased with the shopping experience and the knowledge of the staff. I've visited the Jared's and other jewelers and they can't compare.
