No customer support from company, Bought it specifically for reprinting photos. The ink smears, it is difficult to use. No where in Amazon’s description does it say to use Brother glossy paper. I would not have bought it, will not recommend it.
Print is not crisp, setup junky, and scanner is junky Bad on all fronts: pain to set up, noisy printer. Print quality is janky. Scanner is not easy to use nor providing good quality scan. Liked the judicious use of ink, but not worth the other negatives. Double thumbs down. If I can figure out how to return, that's the plan.
Doesn't work with a community network After hours and hours with Brother Technical Support, along with a replacement printer, they finally confessed that this printer doesn't work with a community network. I am furious, and if I could give it a zero I would!!!!
Horrible controls My Canon printer finally died, so I thought that I would replace it with a Brother printer instead. Big mistake. This has to be the worst printer that I have owned. The print quality is only fair, but that is not the main problem. The ease of use and the controls are the problem. I have never had a problem using the Canon printers that I have owned in the past, but this Brother in another story. difficult to use If it would stay connected and be available when we need it, it would be great.
Terrible yield, color quality, noise, and smear Colors are dull, quality is dismal, makes so much noise it woke up my neighbors, ink smears over otger colors and borders disappeared. Yeild is disappointing for a ink tank printer supposedly to give you a year lasted 2 days with 12 prints
Absolute garbage for Mac 1. The provided install CD is not readable to either my MacBook Pro or iMac desktop. Just keeps getting spit out. Had to download all drivers from their website. 2. After network installation, the printer is showing jobs coming in, and then they just disappear. 3. Tried to Scan via software - Control Center keeps freezing the whole computer for a while, then throws a message that it 'Failed, please try again'. Over and over and over. 4. Comes with the ink but how old is it? This product was easy for me to set up and I love the fact that I can send scans directly to my email but the print quality is terrible! It makes me wonder if it’s just the ink since this printer had good reviews. So disappointing! Who knows how long the ink was sitting in a warehouse before this was shipped to me.
