Duplex printing problems MFC-L5850DW-printer is fast and works great with the PaperPort program. An ongoing problem that I didn't have with my earlier Brother is paper-creasing when printing in duplex mode.
Scan color is off and does not create 8.5 x 11 PDF The printing functions of this MFP are good but the scanner and PDF file creation are very bad. The color capture of the scanner is way off,shaded blue areas showing as green and scan to PDF creates a PDF letter page size of 8.25 x 10.75 NOT 8.5 x 11. This causes the image to cut off and things like W-2 forms (which are printed very close to the edge) get info cut off. disappointed with this maching the machine is brand new. It worked really fine with clear crisp printing. Now it seems to spew toner over the whole page with cloudy film and specks. Yeah I know, clean the drum. I dont want to keep doing this. my old mfc 7440 worked great, sorry didn't stick with it
Dirty copies & Print I have only used product for a few months and am already have issues with not getting crisp clean copies and prints, getting black (looks like toner) spots all over copies & prints.
Not up to Brother Standards so far Had problems right out of the box. Was in repair shop for 10 days and needed a new main PCB and sensor PCB. Repair shop indicated they had seen this model a lot. This machine replaced my MFC 8690DW which I had for 6 years with no problems. Also don't care for the small display window for all the functions. I liked the old model with all the buttons across the front of the machine. Much easier to use. Hopefully I will get used to this model and it will last a long time. 70pg ADF This one is great with the exception it jams frequently when switching from letter to legal size paper. It is very annoying having to clear the paper jam.
non stop problems in less than 2 weeks i have had 3 of these NEW model mfc--l5850dw....first want was eating paper as it fed through...second one.....would not install due to bad disk.....third one prints a black streak across documents scanned or fed though printer ...absolutely the worst experience I have had with a brother product. On a positive note....IF IT WORKED....the features and speed are outstanding IF IT WORKED.
Not so great for office setting The size is nice, and copying is great. Printing is not so great. PDFs that are downloaded take forever or just close on their own. Envelopes will not print clearly and phone calls to tech support do not correct issue. Would only recommend for home use.
no good machine i have still problem with machine they send a replayment is old machine make a lot noise sometimes did no make copy the copy come blank
