Was leaning between a 3 and a 4 star. Things I really like: good equipment, showers, towels, and a very clean facility overall. Things I wish were different: additional platforms for deadlifting, a bigger facility to accommodate for the number of members, more times for cycling classes. Not that bad of a place, but defInitely not my first choice.
This is hands down the best mountainside fitness location. The staff is amazing... everyone is extremely friendly and more importantly it is always kept immaculately clean. It is a fully equipped gym with anything you would need including nice facilities with a sauna and steam room.
So I first joined in 2018 and then canceled because of billing issues. Decided to give them another chance. Bad decision. When I signed up I was posted as a joint account with my sister. I was told everything would be the same including the yearly fee. I was billed a yearly fee 01/01/2020. Was already planning on canceling because Vasa Fitness is cheaper and offers more and they don't seem to have the billing issues that mountain side constantly has. When I explained that when I signed up I was told i wouldn't be charged unt... read more
It's been a year since my old membership expired. I'm back to Mtnside Chandler for the next year. This Ahwatukee club has not changed in the 15 months I've been gone. It's nice, but I'm still surprised at the wasted open space. There could be so much more at this club. As big as the building is (built as a grocery store), the weight area is surprisingly small. There's one maybe two of each machine type. And if there's two they probably are not next to each other. Chandler is the same way. Someday I'll find the perfect gym.
I'm one of the few forces here from the golds buy-out. The whole situation was sad when my favorite gym (golds) just randomly closed and supposedly forced my contract on mountainside. My one star comes from what I think is dishonest sales in forcing me to "buy out" of a contract I never legally signed. I know they would never hold up in court, but I still payed my way out anyway to avoid the headache. Mountainside seems greedy to me... disappointing... Oh, and I live in gilbert and they made me drive to the awatukee branc... read more
If I could give this whole experience a -100, I would . Evidently this place took over for Golds, I went in the following day and the Manager Jennifer assured me the contracts were void, it was cancelled and nothing more. They billed my credit card yesterday, unauthorized. No communication that the cancel was reverted. No email, phone call or text. ABC Financial is a nightmare! This gym, due to material change meaning it's farther would force me to add child care and doesn't have the same amenities, the contract doesn't hold... read more
I am not Impressed by This gym one bit. I had called and talked to someone about coming in to cancel my membership. MSF bought all of the ray road golds gym contracts as the gym went bankrupt and it is impossible to get ahold of anyone from that gym. I come in and am told that i have to pay a fee to cancel my membership. I was told that I was on a month to month and could cancel when ever with out having to pay a fee. When I asked to please get a copy of my contract I was told they were unavailable. This was a big turn off. ... read more
I have a family member who had a membership at Gold's Gym which abruptly closed. Evidently, Mountainside bought out the Gold's contract which seemed fine as initially she was told that she would be able to cancel with out issue. However, when she brought it up they told her that corporate had "changed their minds" and now she has to honor the membership or pay and absurd cancellation fee! One of the great things about Golds was that it she could use the pool and hot tub. Mountainside has neither! If she wanted a membership t... read more
I signed a contract with Gold's gym which suddenly closed with no notice, Gold's transferred my contract to Mountainside Fitness and I could not be more disappointed. Mountainside wants to charge me a cancellation fee, tho I never signed a contract with them. The establishment does not have the pool, jacuzzi, or massage chairs that I went to Gold's for specifically and paid extra for in my contract. This is ridiculous, how can you charge a cancelation fee for a contract is in good because Mountainsides Facilities are lacking... read more
