DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM!! I had called the weekend before I was supposed to be charged again to cancel my account. The person I spoke to stated that due to covid I wasn't going to be charged for the month of June. So, I decided to keep my account on the off chance things got better covid wise and I felt comfortable using the gym again. Well, I looked at my bank account the following week and I did end up getting charged. I called in asking fora refund explaining what happened and they refused. If that wasn't frustrating... read more

I froze my account last month (May) due to covid 19. Amidst all of the pandemic, I still do not feel safe to go to the gym. I get a bill for June today (June 3rd) on the first day of the billing period. I immediately called to see if I could just get a refund for this month and freeze it instead. They were so rigid about me getting a refund for the month, saying "you must have done it before the billing period, there is absolutely nothing we can do for you," which is nonsense. I sense money hunger; they are just looking to t... read more

These are money hungry people who are there to loot you. I became a member on March 13 and paid for a month to month fee. Then following the pandemic they shit down on March 19. When they reopened on late May, I called them and asked to freeze my account for another month and the guy over the phone said he did so for me. I didn't get any confirmation so I reached out again after a few days and this time they say I need to come in person. I asked if I can get a prorated refund since I was member for only one week and then all... read more

I'm really disappointed in Mountainside Fitness. I'm disgusted about how they are prioritizing money over health during this COVID-19 crisis. I have asthma so the last place I want to be during a global pandemic is amongst other people and public places. In order to cancel my membership, they are demanding that I either go in-person to a location (which creates a risk that I can be infected) or wait in line at the post office to send a certified letter stating my cancellation, again risking my health. It's like they literall... read more

I have been working out at gyms for over 30 years and I have never been to a better one than Mountainside Fitness. They keep it clean and orderly everyday, but especially now with the coronavirus pandemic. While other gyms have closed, Mountainside has full time crews constantly cleaning equipment and keeping it tidy. This is much appreciated since exercise and staying healthy is extremely important at this time. While I have been mostly shuttered in, working out is the only thing that keeps me sane. I don't know where I wou... read more

UNBELIEVABLY they refused to "pause" my membership over the phone and insisted that it was company "policy" to force me to go into their location DURING the quarantine of the pandemic Cononavirus! When I went in they'll only pause it for 30 days max and then force you to come back in if you want it frozen for another 30 days. Why a gym I'd even still open right now, let alone counting on people to be too afraid to have to go in personally, just so they can keep collecting dues is almost criminal in my opinion! This local AZ ... read more

Business response:

Is Mountainside Fitness waiting for EOS to bankrupt them before they lower their outrageous membership costs? Why do I need to pay for aerobics and basketball and other items when I never use them?

Been a long time member at Mountainside Fitness Shea location. The staff does an amazing job with managing the high volume of members. Lately, there has been an increase of younger kids in the fitness area and locker rooms that have created a negative impact at the fitness center. Such as using foul language (they have no clue to the meaning of the words that are being said), along with trashing the men's locker/restroom. Hopefully management can step in and attempt to get control of this issue before it becomes a greater p... read more
