I was under contract with Mountainside Fitness, I paid on time, and in-full every month. When my contract was over, I stayed month to month with them, and continued to always pay on time, and in-full every month. My problem with this company is that I wanted to cancel my membership, and I expressed this through email and text messages several times. My husband and I since Mountainside reopen on Aug 27th have been trying to cancel our memberships due to our 3-year-old daughter's health and covid. they wanted us to go in person or have someone sign a document to handle it. we are still and have been since March in our house. We also have no family out here due to us moving here a few years ago. we ended up ordering stamps and sent them our signatures to cancel. Love mountainside fitness! Place is clean, and the staff are terrific. Special note, Joey is the best trainer I have ever worked with hands down. Check him out if you want to get in shape, gain strength and learn what it takes to be fit.

Very disappointed in the concern for safety during Covid-19 and enforcing Maricopa County guidelines. Members who disregard wearing masks or intentionally wear them incorrectly (ie not covering mouth AND nose) are welcome without repercussions (specifically repeat offenders)! We will not be returning, even post -pandemic

We love being able to go to Mountainside Fitness even during COVID and appreciate the safety precautions they are taking. Joey is our personal trainer and is the absolute best! In addition to being just a great person, we were out of the gym for a couple of months when everything had to shut down so when we came back we were out of shape and he kicked our butts back into shape in a month! Pretty disgusted that the annual fee they charge to all members ON TOP OF THE MEMBERSHIP we already pay is withdrawn WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. Seems to me, it feels as tho you want to make up for the fact of being closed the last few months *** Not your fault but not our fault either*** And every year you used to send out emails ,mail ,etc and all the sudden you just reopened and bam already an annual fee on top of our monthly fee! Been a member since 2017 and used to love this gym but when I asked to cancel in march they didnt. Have sent many emails since may but they want you to come in and do it in person. They have no regard for members and their health or if you dont want to risk going there. I have written review on google but the guy responded back saying they will cancel which never happened. Someone should take them to court for harassing customers who have declined their service and availed no service but are being forced to retain membership... read more

Put a freeze on my membership and training package during Covid since my elderly mother now lives with me. Joey forget to tell Andre in training so I was charged for the training package again. After talking with Andre, he said he would "try" to get me a refund. I've not received it. He suggested I bring in a written request for cancellation prior to the first of this month which I did and was charged anyway. Horrible customer service experience.

We tried calling Mountain Side to cancel our membership. They were not answering phones. We looked on line and sent a letter to corporate and did not receive a response. Today we receive a phone call that they are charging our credit card. We explained what we did but they informed us that we will still be charged. They've been closed for like 4 months or more now. I know it's due to covid but trying to make money like this is not appreciated. Never again going with Mountain Side after this greedy ploy.
