I live in California my car insurance was 900.00 in 2019 & upon renewal the price was quoted over $1600.00! I had Nationwide insurance for 6 yrs ! I asked my agent & he said because of the fires everybody has to pay! That is ridiculous amount to pay for driving less than 2000 mi a yr. and never submitted a claim! I called there 800# and as usual they couldn’t tell me anything! There should b a law against ripping customers off! I shudder to think of what my homeowners should of gone up to! had pet insurance on each of my dogs over the years, and was always quite satisfied with the service. obviously, expect SOME rate increase as a pet ages, but this past year was USURIOUS. The vet suggested a dental cleaning for my service dog about 60 days short of what would have been an annual cleaning. So, I CALLED Nationwide and specifically ASKED if we needed to wait for the full 365 days to pass (since the previous dental) or whether the coverage was limited to one episode per calendar year. Dishonest company. I've had insurance through Nationwide for several years when I had to file a claim in November on my vehicle, that's when things went downhill rather quickly. They do not return calls in a timely manner, you must call them repeatedly to get anywhere with your claim. After close to 4 weeks and many phone calls to the adjuster(s) I finally received a deposit to my account for the amount they felt reasonable for my total loss. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Cigna paid for the unit I was using and nationwide demanded it be returned. This is fraud in my opinion. Nation wide tried saying I never completed requirements for usage when I had confirmed this with sunset sleep labs.

My car was stolen Dec 8. From the time I contacted Nationwide it was a disaster. I was told I was to pay $30 a day for a rental not until the investigator finally contacted me was I informed that information was wrong. My Car was recovered 4-5 days later. Mollie H****** was out on vacation. I called a rep Julia who asked if I had a shop in mind I stated no. Can I give zero stars? I had pet insurance through Nationwide. i had wellness and preventative. I submitted a wellness claim for a teeth cleaning for my dog. She has never had an issue with her teeth and I ensured this was something Nationwide covered before signing up. The review is supposed to take 30 days. I contacted Nationwide since I didn't hear from them in the 30 day window. They told me that they were busy and my claim submission was pushed back another 30 days. In July of 2019 we acquired homeowner's insurance, auto and and a personal liability policy from Nationwide. A month or two later, we received a terse statement from Nationwide that they were cancelling our homeowner's policy due to the fact that we were not within 1,000 feet of a fire hydrant. Our residence is in rural Virginia and less than 2 miles from a fully functional and equipped fire station, a fact that was available to Nationwide at the outset of our interactions with them. A nationwide client rear ended my stepdaughters car totaling it. The total loss department in des moines ia is proving to be extremely low class offering less than market value to settle the claim. I am interested in a class action law suit. I am going to call them repeatedly requesting they be fair with the intent of wasting has much of their time has possible. I encourage others to do the same. Nationwide is not on my side.

This company has to be the worse to deal with!! I was not ask to be hit by their customer and all I want is my car to be fixed. They have been no help in dealing with the body shop. They also are denying fixing my car the way it should be. I should not have to get a lawyer involved for a simple accident. No one ever picks up the phone and you play phone tag or email tag. So now I have been without my car for a month and they just cancelled the rental car and my car is still in the shop waiting on their approval to fix my car... read more
