Not for us After a year of trying to figure out why we could not get the spa's water balanced, we finally figured out that the Nature2 stick was the problem. My husband started getting skin problems which we chalked up to the unbalanced spa water. So I started researching the nature2 stick. Want green water? Buy this. You are supposed to be able to put this cartridge in the middle of one of the hot tub filters & forget it for upto 4 mo. I bought 2 of these so I could get though the entire winter season with very little maintenance. I installed one my wife and I went on a 2 week vacation. After we got back home a dip in the hot tub sounded so good. Opened the top & OMG!!! very green & very cloudy water. Tub had to be drained because we had to clean the slime off the walls. Mineral Deposit Build-Up Noticeable Mineral Deposit Build Up when used with Aquifer/Well Based Water Source, Spa Frog doesn't seem to have as much buildup.
The only way to go. I have use them for years. I use these and a little oxidizer once a week, a small amount of oxidizer after each use and shock the tub with oxidizer once a month. That's it..... And a little lemon juice for hard water stains. I drain and clean the tub three times a year and put in a new Nature2 cartridge. No scum. (We don't wear perfumes or oils into the tub) No odors like with Chlorine Nothing that irritates the skin I even have a Nature2 cartridge for our pool also.
