Osteria Panevino is clearly doing something right. With its long history in San Diego, you know the food must be great. Located conveniently in the Gas Lamp district, the restaurant prepares delicious dishes. You will not be disappointed.
Service was great on Thanksgiving. Food is mediocre.
Had a great evening there with Mario, from Sicily, as our attentive waiter. Bruschetta was great and the veal chop special was delicious. We couldn't finish it all and they packaged it up for us and we enjoyed it for breakfast😀 We dined there several years ago and it is still wonderful!
Bit louder due to location if you sit outside but between the service and the food, it's a great place! Food is outstanding and our service was great!
This is the northern Italian food restaurant I go to every time I visit San Diego. The food is excellent and the service attentive. It is not the place for a quiet, romantic dinner. The place is loud and when the front for is open (often) it gets "smoky" from the outdoor diners. If you don't mind the noise, you are in for a great meal!
We had dinner at the Osteria Panevino while staying in San Diego. The service was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The waitress mentioned a new wine they had just gotten in which wasn't on the list yet. It happened to be my husband's favorite wine. The salmon and beef carpaccio were excellent and the main courses of ravioli with lobster and veal parmigiana were delicious. We enjoyed everything about the dining experience and heartily recommend it.
Our group of 4 had a very nice meal here last Friday night. The service was great and the food definitely above average. We would put it on our list to consider again. Our only two suggestions for the restaurant would be 1) expand your wine list a bit with more variety, and 2) keep up the consistency on all of the food (2 meals were outstanding and the other 2 were pretty good).
