We had a delicious dinner, nice ambience with excellent service and will definitely return. The evening was wonderful until we got our bill to find that the happy hour hors d'oeuvres and wine we ordered before dinner were not happy hour items in spite of making that interest clear when we were seated. They did reduce the price on the appetizer but we were stuck with an extra $30 bar bill for the two glasses of wine our waiter helpfully suggested. As I said to start though, we will go back for sure, just wiser.
As you can see from my past reviews I have been here annually since 2011. This is one of my favorite restaurants for dinner. The quality of the food and consistency of their service are prime examples of why I continue to return here. I ordered my favorite veal ossobuco with risotto, which is always on their regular menu. It is becoming rare to find veal ossobuco on a regular menu as more restaurants try to cut costs by offering either lamb or pork ossobuco. I really prefer veal ossobuco over lamb or pork, but, would sometim... read more
Everything was excellent! Portions were generous and tasty. Highly recommend.
We've been coming here for over 4 years and it's always great. The waiting staff has been constant the entire time. I love coming back and seeing the same people. The service is always great. The food was great to. I think my dish which was the chefs pasta special of the night could have been slightly better. The sauce was a little thin, but very flavorful. The shrimp and scallops should have had a little sear on them. They were a little bland. But over all a great meal and we will come back.
We had a party of 10 for a business lunch . Many of us ordered the pasta with lobster, clams and mussels dish. I was just unbelievable, Hugh portion and out of this world . Highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner. We will be back
Really enjoyed our meal! Glad we tried this authentic Italian eatery.
Food was fresh....hot and tasty. A place to return, close to the theater and easy to make reservation. Large variety on menu. We will decided to return another time when downtown San Diego. As we were leaving we noticed, this area of downtown is not as crisp as it used to be. Hopefully, the vendor will make sure the city is aware. Grammy Sharon
This is an old favorite. The menu is extensive and fabulous. The waitress was lovely. We sat on the outdoor patio and had a good laugh of the local crazies. I highly recommend this local favorite.
While the Taylor Swift 1989 Tour concert in San Diego was playing this night we had 5:00 pm reservations and there was already a waiting list so I do not know if that had to do with the concert or whether they are always that full, but the food, service and location is excellent so it might not be a bad idea to have reservations in advance. We dined in the outdoor/patio area and the street noise was elevated so if you would like a little more ambiance and less people/traffic watching you might insist in indoor dining.
