Forced to eat Valentine’s Day dinner menu which had the same items as regular menu but what an extra price of at least $5 per plate. Nothing tasted that good. Service was meh. $30 for a plate of overcooked pasta. Not returning.
We felt that it was over priced for the food quality. Salmon over cooked. Spinach under cooked. Pork chop wasn’t best quality cut. For the price, it should have been better. Our server was lovely but never asked how our meal was.
Food was awful, service was okay it was busy but the quality of food was no where near a true Italian place with 4 star prices
The owners clearly take a lot of pride in what they do. Everything we had on the menu was excellent. The bread was probably the best I’ve ever had. The service was great. It was a Saturday night and was hopping which was nice to see that people appreciate it. Unfortunately, downtown and the gas lamp in particular are turning into a dystopian hell holes. We won’t be back to the area unless things change (we’re local).
My food was cold
We used to live in SD so we should have known that pretty much any restaurant on 5th is super touristy, but we were in from out of town, celebrating my birthday and NYE. We didn’t give much forethought to where we might want to eat for NYE dinner but Osteria Panevino had spots open that evening so i booked it. Honestly our server was great and was the only redeeming quality. I had reservations for New Year’s Eve. For some reason the server didn’t want to sit us inside. … we had inside reservations. She was wearing a beanie and see the tone for the evening. I walked to the bathroom to check out the inside because we were 30 mins past our ressy. There was a table open. I asked to be seated there. The bread was good, and that’s the best thing I can say about this place. The pizza didn’t seem to have yeast, and was just flour and water. The cheese was strange and not melted. The waiter claimed it was “Sicilian” style. I’ve had Sicilian pizza, and this was not it. There was a sharp piece of shell, probably from a mussel, cooked inside a spinach ravioli, and they still charged for the dish. The bolognese was a watery mess for $28.
