Osteria Panevino is not my favorite Italian restaurant in San Diego. The overpriced meals were sub par to say the least. It was not hot and looked as if it came out of a can! Lots of servers just standing around while a few were too busy to take care of a simple table for 2. Plenty of other options out there. I won't be going back.
Food was subpar but the bathrooms were disgusting. Something you would expect at a gas station in the middle of nowhere, not at a finer restaurant in the Gaslamp. There are better options steps away.
Ribeye way too fatty. Came to table ice cold along with ice cold mashed potatoes. No one came to check on the table. I had to rack down a waitress to get a re-fire. Later a manager came to the table to ask "how things were" and I told him .. he literally just turned and walked away. WTF. Never experienced that before. Never coming back, needs maintenance, short staffed, didn’t want to stay, no comments and n food. 3 employees going crazy on a Saturday afternoon.
My pasta dish with prawns was terrible. The prawns came with the shell and tenicles and the pasta tasted like it had sand. Waitress was charming but ambience and food is very lacking.
Not great. Very slow service and the food was just… bad. Really wanted to like it but they just can’t make the basics work. Pasta was crunchy, sauce was flavorless, salad was soggy and unappealing. First time I’ve not been able to complete a meal—sorry to say I lost my appetite. Very high prices, slow service, very bad food. My lovely date and I just sort of laughed it off but truly not a good dining experience here. Wish we ordered pizza.
Worst food we’ve ever eaten. We both ordered pizzas and ending up leaving both, was shocking how poor the food standard is here
The food was rather disapointing.... the lasagna my husband ordered baraly had two layers, it appeared more as a cheese and ground meat casserole. As for my seafood pasta, the seafood was 10/10, but the "homemade pasta" was over cooked, the sauce had no flavour. For a $52 plate it felt absurdly overpriced and just plainly disappointing.
Their pizza oven was broken so no pizza’s were available to order.
