Paychex is the WORST Company I have ever dealt with!!One star chosen only because no star was not an option!Unauthorized charges, NO transparency for the charges, Unanswered emails, and calls. Extremely disappointed with Paychex. From the beginning, the sales process felt deceptive. The payroll service itself is expensive and offers very limited tools compared to other providers, but the real problem came when I signed up for their retirement plan. I’m a small business owner and the 401(k) plan is only for myself. I am filing this complaint due to ongoing billing and service failures by Paychex.I was charged a setup fee for the Time and Attendance system, however, Paychex was never able to properly set up the service in a functional manner for my business to use. One of the absolute worst payroll companies I've had to deal with. Now I am dealing with *** penalties for the documentation that they didn't seem to have filed. Their response time is absolute trash. I was able to get more information by calling the *** myself than by waiting over a month for them to figure out why we are being penalized for payroll deductions that the *** never received. CONSIDER THIS A WARNING!!! We have been with this company for years, things have NEVER been this bad. They no longer call on SCHEDULED payroll days, therefore we have to call, sit on hold for an hour, and deal with someone who has never seen the account and PRAY our employees checks are correct. I paid to have my *** filed and a WT7 completed. I was told they were sent out. They weren't. After a number of emails, including management, I finally got a paper copy. They filed the WT7 without attaching the W2s which resulted in it not being processed and a lien filed.

Horrible service. No one ever answers the phone or returns calls. email address given was wrong. every time I make a payment I am told there is another balance due. On the phone with them for an hour and half called corporate no help transferred me again. I need to do W2s and need information from them. I have been calling for a month now *** filing is going to be late. I will never use or recommend paychex to any business associate.

Why isn't Zero on here? They are the worst company. I have been dealing with them and the issue since October 2025, and we are now in February 2026. They are horrible at returning calls or emails. Our issue is still not resolved. I keep getting that I will have an answer by the end of the day or the next day and no one calls back. No portal as promised for the staff to set up benefits.
