Communication to the title company for closing needs to be tightened up as the original closing date passed without communication from a title company. The loan team got involved more and the closing took place as indicated.

Our experience with our re-fi went smoothly and all questions were answered in a timely manner
We did not like the lag time between communications with our loan processor. The fact you have to leave messages and wait for returned calls is not practical. I feel that it is essential to have real-time communication from start to finish. For example we were never told to turn off the automatic payment service on the previous mortgage, subsequently, my first of the month payment for the previous loan processed just a few days before closing. It was corrected and we closed on schedule.
I confirmed my rate lock the first of October and did not close till December 5. I have multiple friends who have gone through this process on their home during this same time. They closed working 35-45 days max! Also, the poor attitude of Rashawna was too much. So many excuses about why I could never get a return call back. She frankly didn’t care that she did not communicate with me. I informed her on the last call that I am working the front lines of covid. Excuses don’t work with me!
My refi closed Dec 4. The process was started mid Aug. I was told it would take a few weeks (Perhaps I misunderstood) At best I assumed a closing the end of October or before Thanksgiving. The Notary was scheduled for noon and did not arrive until 5pm. This was on the settlement company and they could not tell me why. I used PennyMac because they hold my existing loan. I thought that would make for a smoother, quicker process. It was easy to reach the loan team, they were responsive.
The approval was pending for at least two months which delayed closing. The closing person missed our appointment 5 times.
Appraisal process dragged on for 11 weeks and there seemed to be nothing that could be done. communication lacked as to what the hold up was.
