I found the Pennymac mortgage associates to be very knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. I felt very comfortable with my Pennymac team throughout the mortgage refinance process of loan application, documents submission and loan closing. I would easily recommend Pennymac to my friends and family.
Easy process from start to finish
The initial person that took on my case would never get back to me or say he would call and not call. I called in and requested someone else (Debra) who was the only good. After initial work, never got a call, I got multiple changes in contacts, I received an email that said I would receive a call about my closing on the 11th, never happened, It took 8 days after trying to reach out to finally get someone to call me less than 24 hours before signing, figures were wrong too.
This was by far the worst financial transaction I have ever completed. I applied for a refinance and it was approved. I closed after a month and a half.After closing I could not get a clear understanding of why I needed to close again about 20 days later. I was told I needed to close again and that a notary would show up on a Monday. The Notary did not show. I called and was told that the Notary will show up on Wednesday. Then Notary did not show on Wed. The finally showed up late Friday night.
It was difficult to get in touch with representatives that were familiar with my loan by phone and email. Poor communication between the loan officer and the processing agent as the questions I had regarding discrepancies required the processing agent to get in touch with the loan officer. As per the processing agent, loan officer was supposed to explain discrepancies in the closing disclosure but never attempted to get in touch with me. Questions left unanswered at closing.
From the inception of the loan process with Karen when we started through Fazia who ultimately brought us to the finish line was not painful at all. Other than our company not giving the information that we had requested due to what PennyMAC was requesting in a timely manner, the overall loan process was smooth. The progress meter that was on the loan site was very helpful as it kept us up to date with the stage of the loan itself. I would recommend PennyMAC to anyone needing a loan. Randy
Great service from first inquire to signing all the people involved were helpful and knew what they were doing!
I received notification about the closing, the time, the person, his car type, and even a picture of him. When it came time to close the person never showed up. So when I called him he said he was taken off the closing. I was never notified of this or any changes. 50 minutes later a lady pulls up wanting to do the closing. My wife and I had almost left our house and wondering what the heck was going on. We did not receive a phone call. I was not going to close and look for another company.
Greg was fundamental to this process going smoothy. Honestly, in the beginning, there was a breakdown in communication between my first point of contact and Greg. That being said, Greg de-escalated the situation very well, was easy to understand, and his response times were stellar. None of my questions were left unanswered for more than a few hours, and he really made the process straightforward, when this process is generally chaos. Hope to deal with him again.
