Throughout the application process we were kept aware of the status, and advised when documents were required. The portal was easy to use for uploading documents and viewing the paperwork from Penny Mac. PennyMac staff were knowledgeable and efficient.

We had a simple refinance. Our credit is good It took 3 months talking to multiple people wanting the same documents that were sent over and over.. I won’t recommend PennyMac...
There was no communication with the mac team. Manager Jerod was no different. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had in my entire life regarding service. The only thing that was good about my experience is Michael Ammari. My loan was canceled without me knowing, my closing disclosure change from one day to the next with no explanation. After contacting management thinking that would have changed the way things were, it got worst. If the head is bad what chance for the tail to be a
fast and easy. all details checked along the way, actually closed faster than expected
I really appreciated the “weekly” call to update me, especially during this Covid-19 shelter in place when no Appraisers were coming to homes.
THE ONLY ISSUE I HAD WAS WHEN I WAS ASKED IF I WANTED TO RECEIVE THE ESCROW BALANCE OF THE OLD LOAN SENT TO ME, OR TO ROLL IT OVER TO THE NEW LOAN. IF I HAD BEEN TOLD HOW MUCH IT WOULD BE, I WOULD HAVE ELECTED TO TAKE IT BACK INSTEAD OF ROLLING IT OVER. WHEN I FINALLY SAW HOW MUCH I WOULD HAVE RECEIVED, THE CLOSING WAS COMPLETE. I CALLED AND ASKED FOR THE ESCROW TO BE RETURNED, I WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS TOO LATE. THE LAW SAYS I AM ENTITLED TO THAT MONEY, AND I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME!
I think with the corona virus it may have been difficult at times but could of been better timely communication.
