The VA Loan Reduction process went very smoothly. It was a pleasant transaction.

Easy process. Went much smoother than I expected. I barely had to do anything at all.

The communication from my MAC Team person was SO TERRIBLE. At one point, when I asked for an update on my loan status and where it was at, she said something about the loan process being "as unpredictable as the weather" and she had "no idea." Really? I know the virus situation slowed things down, but the slowness coupled with the total lack of communication made it awful. I would NOT recommend refi through PennyMac to anyone, ever. I'd type more specifics but limited to 500 characters. 🙄

We had to close twice with a notery because the figures were not right. At first we were told we did not need to put money down, then we were told we needed to pay $463.55 then for final closing we needed to pay $520.13, which we did. Very confusing as to why this happened. We started the refinancing in March and during the refinancing we received Payoff Demand Statements on March 18th, 27th, 29th, April 6 and 22.

The whole process went smoothly and each step was communicated in advance, and happened on time.

I enjoyed working with Kami and Vartan, though I do feel that the working from home and coronavirus made some things more disjointed that they would normally be. I had to sign the closing documents 3 times in total, which wasn't great- they couldn't seem to get the numbers we discussed to translate to the paper, so that was a hassle. But overall they got it taken care of (I think) and they were nice about it.
