Please answer questions, before you simply pass the client on to someone else. That happened almost every time and I was an easy client. Let you do your thing on your own time, expecting to be given some time to discuss when it was needed. But the debts to pay off were never clearly discussed until we were ready to sign the closing disclosure, at which time it felt that we would have to restart or regress in the process. The debt was refinanced, but final goal was only partially achieved.

Communication from your closing specialists. We did not receive responses to email or voice mail. We received multiple requests for the same documents. We were threatened that our loan would be cancelled if we did not respond by the requested date, which we responded to immediately the first time by phone and email. The loan specialist who established our loan was fantastic, from that point going forward, one of the worst customer service experiences.

It was difficult to determine if requested documents were communicated to my loan processor, because she would ask repeatedly for the same things. Also, once one document was sent there would be a request for a similar document (in this case I'm referring to my homeowners insurance - Penny Mac knew I had homeowner insurance; my original loan was with Penny Mac, and they had just made a payment out of escrow for it, yet they asked more than once for proof of insurance). Just two examples.
