I had an existing mortgage loan through Penny Mac. I shopped other competitors but no one was able to articulate the best options for me other than Penny Mac. I decided to refinance after having an efficient and seamless experience via phone. They were able to drop my interest rate over 2% and save me $600+ a month on my mortgage! The process was easy and closed within 60 days. Every person involved was professional and competent. I had not one issue. I highly recommend Penny Mac.

There were too many people who were in charge of my refinancing instead of just having one person to get me through the process. The process took more months to complete than expected.
The speed of the mortgage refinancing was great. Would highly recommend PennyMac.
Went very smoothly, very pleased with the process.
The day prior to closing, The individual that was to notarize paperwork informed they would not complete closing. Called PennyMac for 2 days. Didn’t hear from PennyMac until after scheduled closing time. I was also informed I wouldn’t have payment the month of closing. Payment was pulled. Called PennyMac and was told that they couldn’t stop it, I would have to call my bank to stop payment. To stop their error on payment it cost me $36 with bank to stop payment! Frustrating!!
Over all a fair experience. Our goal was met we lowered our intrest rate and are saving $35,000. In interest. However i think more communication would have been a plus. The automation system at PennyMac is very stressful when you are wanting to talk with a person about your loan.
I asked about my refinance and if there were any issues with having a contractor build via Ygrene and and I was told no issues which resulted in the first try of Refi being pulled back. Additionally I asked Pennymac to pay for my new insurance policy after the first Refi was pulled back and was told no problem (this happen 3x) only to find out my payment was never sent which resulted in my policy being canceled and a premium to renew. Shitty service all around
