I found PetCare back in 2003 when I searching for a place to get our persian kitten spayed. Our regular vet at that time was (and still is) very pricey and I never really got an all-around good feel about the place. Sacanimal.org had a list of affordable vet clinics... PetCare was listed. I called some other vets, too, but PetCare was able to get us in sooner. I was a little hesistant because I'm in Sac and PetCare is in Roseville, but I decided to make the trek regardless. I just moved back to Roseville, so I needed to find a vet for my 2 year old cat. PetCare was a great experience, especially since I have so many things to take care of at the moment. Like Melanie said, the building is a little old, but from the first step inside, you can tell the people are friendly and caring. The receptionists were very nice and made me feel right at home. I heard about Petcare through a fellow yelper, when I posted a thread to find an affordable Vet. First the negatives. The clinic is located in a 1970 style building in a slightly run down area of Douglas Blvd. (Near Harding) I didn't take off a star for that, since that is probably why they are able to keep their prices low. I had to take off a star for the strong odor of cat urine that hits you when you open the door. Now on to the good stuff. I brought my dog in for a checkup consultation for spay and teeth cleaning. Urine on the floor next to chair. Exam room: Leighanne Goyder asked ME to put my hands in my dog's mouth so SHE can see my dogs' teeth. That is NOT my job. I excuse myself to go wash my hands. Vet tech comes back with my dog but no Leighanne Goyder. Unprofessional. I asked to speak with her so she could tell me how to take care of my dog correctly after surgery. Terrible place. Where do I even start. Been going here for about two years and it's just gotten so bad. They never answer the phone anymore. And when they do answer the old lady on the other end never ends up even doing what we discussed doing (ie: sending a message to the doc or filling a prescription). They've done labs on my cat WITHOUT my consent. Told me it would be one price before taking my cat back to get her blood drawn and never mentioned the possibility of needing another specialists opinion. Once I went to pay it... read more

If you care about your loved-one/family-member, don't bring them here. We brought a loved one here years ago for dental work, where side teeth were removed. Upon bringing them home, they were a drooling mess for almost a week, not eating, and almost didn't make it. Thankfully they did. Recently, just before Christmas, thinking last time was just fluke side-effects, we brought another loved-one here. Our fur babies have been going to PetCare on Douglas for over 4 years. It used to be great, but over the past 18 mos - 2 years, customer service has been steadily declining. Several weeks ago, I called multiple times, but no one answered. I left 2 voicemails that week. No one returned my calls or voicemails. Even sent an email. I was upset because one of our three cats needs to be seen (non-emergency). Also our oldest cat, 15, is on Gabapentin for pain and is out of her med. Declining quality of service and care complimented with a severe lack of professionalism... I just returned home after being told that my online scheduled appointment which was confirmed 2 x by email, was cancelled/rescheduled to a later time. I have been bringing my dogs here for over a decade. Lately, there has been a lack of communication and my dog is suffering for it. I don't know what is going on lately, but it is not the same PetCare that I trusted with my animals a year ago.
