This friendly neighborhood hangout feels like it's been around for much longer than it has. Probably because of the old black-and-white photos of Phoenix that cover the walls or the ease with which the patrons settle in for a casual meal or a drink at the bar. Whatever the reason, you will feel comfortable and welcome here. The menu features large portions of all-American mains with Southwestern twists. Pizzas and light bites perfectly complement a glass of wine, beer or cocktail from the bar.

Very good food, excellent service and nice atmosphere. It is not overly noisy as it seems to be a more mature crowd. The tables are well spaced with booths against the wall. This was our second visit and we will certainly be back.
We stopped on the way into PHX for a play, and it was a great experience, as always. Rebecca was our server, and she was happy to do 10 separate checks and made sure we had a leisurely dining experience and were on the road in time for our performance. I love the new SW influence the menu has taken on, and always appreciate the fact that there's everything from soup, salad, sandwiches to small plates and entrees to fit every appetite!
Unfortunately, I had an emergency and had to call the restaurant to cancel...however , we have been here many times and it is excellent.
We always enjoy the Phoenix City Grille for a dinner before going downtown. Fried Shrimp wrapped in bacon is outstanding.
Phoenix City Grill is an inviting friendly place that creates innovative dishes. Everything has a little twist to the ordinary fare and presented in attractively designed presentation. With all the new restaurants setting up in this area, it's good to find that this terrific little place has not dropped in quality. Great, diverse menu. Fast service, overall a very satisfying place to head. It can be quiet or noisy, depending on how loud the group next to you is, but even when it's noisy, it's a happy sound.
We met a friend for dinner and had a great evening. The food was great. I have the sea bass special, my partner -- the chicken dinner, and a friend -- a good juicy hamburger with sweet potato fries. All were very satisfied. If you join their email list you will get a free dessert. We got the bread pudding that was just so-so (no raisons!!!!) and tasted more like French toast. But our friend ordered the warm chocolate brownie with gelato – and it was wonderful. We will be back.
The outstanding performance of this restaurant continues to impress me. Food is excellent with attentive but not intrusive. A true dining pleasure.
There were five of us. Four of us shared two salads to start, and then we all shared five of the small plates, which was more than enough. Each item was delicious. My favorite was the machaca stuffed green chile, but the bacon wrapped broiled shrimp was outstanding as well. Have never tried the main menu, as the small plates are so good, and so much fun to share the different offerings. Highly recommend.
