Pies ’n Thighs opened in 2006, in the shadow of the Williamsburg Bridge. We took over a beer storage closet in the and transformed it into a tiny kitchen with six stools, serving huge donuts, two-napkin smoked pork sandwiches and salty, crispy fried chicken. The New York Times called the pies and the thighs a compelling combination, well executed and put forth with real heart—the sort of restaurant that’s hard to find, especially in the big city, but easy to love once found.

We made a reservation for 10am Saturday morning when they first opened but we probably could have just lined up at 10 and gotten right in. There are also 5 or 6 outdoor tables. Service was so friendly, quick and efficient. Hands down the best biscuit and fried chicken I've had. The honey butter was also perfect consistency. I liked that I could order a biscuit and a couple single pieces of chicken as I didn't want a whole platter (saved room for dessert). Hubby appreciated the way they plated the B&G so as to enjoy fully eac... read more

Delicious breakfast, lunch brunch or dinner spot. If you're on a diet skip this southern delight. Several biscuits, waffles and burgers and egg dishes to choose from as well as salads. Service was friendly and food was served with a reasonable pace. The portions are worth the value of the price. I sat outdoors and enjoyed the neighborhood, the street can be a bit busy but the neighborhood is nice. Looking for a hearty meal? This place should suffice!

Oh wow, maybe the best fried chicken in NYC! The chicken is perfectly brined and the skin is both crispy, light and flaky. I definitely recommend adding the buttermilk mashed potatoes which are made from real potatoes. Another must order side is the honey butter for the biscuits which are the perfect complement. Overall it probably doesn't get better than this!

found a late, drunken night... the shiny, familiar, wholesome lights and smell of pie felt almost as if going back home (I'm a simple, southern gal). but alas I could not try the forbidden fruit -- closing time :( but I came back the literal next day lol. they couldn't keep me away hehe. but long story short, the pie was yummy. I had a hankering for banana pudding, so the banana cream hit the spot. everything else wasn't really my cup of tea. the biscuit was far from my Momma's flaky cat head made-from-scratch ones. honestly... read more
