The positive - They answered the telephone and sent over Angel promptly. The person who answered the phone was pleasant. The negative - Angel looked and left within 10 minutes. When I called the office later that day for an update, they told me that I needed a new boiler because parts were completely unavailable for my old one. They said someone named (I believe) James would call me back with a quote for a new boiler. That was the last I heard from them. This all happened in late November/Dec 2020, when it was cold out. Came home from the hospital to find their service truck parked in my driveway. There were plenty of places to park nearby while they worked on a neighbors house, and my property is obvious and clearly marked. After several beeps of the horn, their tech came out, stood by their truck and stared at me. After saying several times he was on my property, with no response, I asked if he spoke english, thinking there might be a language barrier. Still no response, still staring at me. Finally I got out of my car, asked again if he ... read more
Tech found a dirty sensor that was causing the furnace to shut off and on thereby causing too much cold air to build up in ducts. Too early to tell how much improvement as no really cold days following the fix.
They diagnosed the problem and identified a low cost issue, not trying to up-charge.
Business response:
We appreciate your business and are glad to be of service. Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback.
The technician was very nice, but was unprepared to service my HVAC unit. Simply sprayed a chemical cleaning agent on the units coils and hosed down the outside unit. Did not actually clean / service the unit as requested and when I brought this up to him, claimed that the dispatches didnt leave him enough time to actually do the job and that I would have to make another appointment. Needless to say since the only reason I called was for them to come clean the unit am very disappointed. Recommend using someone else.
Business response:
We are surprised to read this review. This customer originally called Polar Bear asking us to evaluate for what he believed was mold on his mini-split system. The office referred him to a mold remediation company licensed in this specialty work. The customer then changed his request, stating it'[Member Information Removed] probably just dirt and could we please send a technician for a maintenance visit. We provided him with an explanation of what cleaning is included with our maintenance visit and a quote that he agreed to, ... read more
Customer Service? EXTREMELY POOR! Polar Bear replaced my 24-year old unit with a RHEEM in June 2016 when the AC failed. The new AC worked fine. Then winter came! The electric bills for heating my small townhouse between Dec. and March 2016-17 were $1,637. In comparison, using the old system the previous winter, my electric bills were less than half that, only $765! After pleading phone calls, the office manager sent a service rep out twice. The first offered ridiculous, ineffective suggestions. The second tried a potential f... read more
Business response:
We apologize this took too long to get resolution and there was some miscommunication along the way. Relieved that Joe and our technicians were able to get to the bottom of the issue and rectify the situation before winter. We trust that you will let us know if you have any further issues.
Could have been better with client service and quality control.
Business response:
We were surprised to see this review, as we had not heard from this customer in over a year until she wrote a review on 5/8/17. We keep phone records but do not have a record of this customer calling several times in 2016. We do have a record of discussing a leak search in 2016, but she has an outstanding balance on her account and neither the balance was paid nor the leak search scheduled. Refrigerant leaks are generally due to a leaky part that needs to be replaced, and not a faulty installation. After posting a response t... read more
The service never happened because they never showed up. I called them several times this vendor never called me all calls were initiated by me.
Need a motor replaced on my A/C unit. They refused to give me a quote unless I first paid for a new diagnostic by them. I told them that I understood I'd have to have a diagnostic done by them but that I wasn't willing to pay for that if they couldn't tell me how much it would cost to replace the motor if it was the motor that needed to be replaced. Horrible customer service.
Business response:
It is our policy to not give price quotes for parts over the telephone until our qualified technician inspects the equipment and makes his own professional diagnosis, regardless of previous diagnoses from other companies, to ensure the correct repair will be done with the correct parts for the system. We offered a diagnostic visit to this customer, who refused unless we provided a price quote for the parts replacement by phone first.
