Great vacuum Vacuum is very good. It cleaned my pool perfectly. One thing I wish it had was more accurate cleaning. It seems to hit the same spots multiple times and missing other spots all together.
A nearly perfect unit, worth the price of investment!! I ordered this to replace an old Polaris pool cleaner that had finally broken down and needed hundreds of dollars of repair parts. My old pool cleaner operated off of an extra pump that we have installed. This new one is electric and does not use the pool's system for suction.Out of the box, this thing was crazy easy to assemble. Good quick pool cleaning machine but a bit heavy to lift from the pool The Polaris 9550 pool cleaner does an excellent job cleaning the bottom and walls of a pool. It is better than other pool cleaners used in the past collecting leaves, dirt and even dog hairs from the bottom of the pool. I really like its ability to climb the walls of the pool. Awesome product I hesitated to get the expensive product. I've been using a Dolphin for years. After about 5 years, some parts start to break down and need replacing. Or the pool just doesn't get cleaned enough after 2-3 hours. The Polaris is such a better quality product. It comes with a cart which makes pulling it close to the pool very convenient. Good Unit Mine lasted exactly 2 years, but I left it in the pool 24/7 and ran it every day. I believe it would have lasted a lot longer if I followed the instructions and removed it daily. I'm ordering another one because the performance of this unit is excellent. 4-stars because the cable does get tangled from time to time.
So far, decent We have a 40,000 gal free form, 13 yr old pool. Not our first cleaner and probably not the last. What works - very good suction, this robot climbs all the walls and does a good job at the water line. It also does our first two steps. All I have to brush is the landing and benches. This works very well. Caddy that is included is poorly designed. Polaris is working as expected.Caddy fell apart twice, when hitting a bump. First time came apart and second time came completely apart. The plastic piece, which attaches the the controller to the caddy flew off, is lost somewhere in the grass or bushes. Where the connection pipe for the caddy to the sled that is to hold the Polaris came apart had a plastic male screw on the caddy base and a female screw on to connect the metal pipe to the the base. Good value Arrived early, easy to assemble. Like the fact that you can select shape of the pool. Doesn't make sense to have a power cord really short and ask not to use an extension cord. That needs to be improved ASAP. Have a 20x40 and it gets the job done.
Does Not Clean Stairs & Corners Initially did great cleaning dirt & rocks. But I had to buy an ultra fine filter for it (another $80) to get the rest of the dirt. The description says it blows things out of corners and handles steps....it does not. I read multiple reviews saying it handles steps, but they must be very wide, abnormal steps, because I have 4 and it doesn't clean them a bit.
