The unit performs as advertised. It is considerably lighter than the dolphin I had before. I also find the trash receptacle to be much easier to use and clean. I especially like the efficiency in climbing the walls. The first row of cleaner rotors, come nearly all the way out of the water. This is also an improvement over the dolphin. The removal feature is an added plus. It considerably reduces strain on the power cord, which was the only way to get the other unit out of the water.💧Â

I borrowed an older model Polaris for several days before I got my new Polaris EPIC 8640. I noticed a big difference between the older and newer model when it came to climbing steps. The 8640 did so much better going from the medium depth of the pool to the sun shelf which is two steps up. I have one word, IMPRESSIVE!Â

It doesn't get much easier than grabbing this robot vacuum and putting it in the pool. It's really easy to set up and use. It does a great job at vacuuming the pool. It doesn't get everything, especially the ledges, but it gets the majority of it. You will still want to manually vacuum the pool ever so often but this thing is nice to have. I like that it has the return mode so that I can just grab it out of the pool easily.Â
